Since this weekend, yeah waits for TF has been around 90 minutes, while Ive seen DM get as high as 130 minutes. So I think that it isn't necessarily the popularity of the ride, its about capacity. I don't have numbers for either, but Id be willing to bet that TF gets more guest through than DM. In DM, you have to sit through 2 pre-shows at a dead stop, wheras in TF, as long as there isn't a breakdown, the line is always moving.

While I agree that Universal as well as many of us here expected more crowds, & it isn't as busy as we anticipated, I don't think just because TF hasn't reached a 3 digit wait time doesn't mean its not highly successful, or "weird". To me, it just seems TF just has great capacity & eats people faster than most rides. & again, it hasn't even been open a week yet, let alone a whole summer, so any of this could change at any time. Only my opinion.

Capacity is a great point, and no doubt TF has a better capacity than DM...but it's about on par with Spidey, which sees waits as high as Transformers on normal days...not weekends in the summer after its grand opening. That's not to say Transformers still isn't successful, or that Universal is 'struggling'. It's just been overhyped. It's simply a clone based on an IP that is past its prime.

And from what I know, have heard, and seen for myself, crowds all over the place have been very steady, as have sales for food and merch. The park seems overstaffed and budget goals seem to be over-projections. It's not just about the lines, the park all around must be a bit disappointed.

Couldn't agree more. I believe this ride at max capacity can put through around 2000 an hour which is similar to HPFJ. Its when one of the elevators goes down that they probably get ridiculous waits

I'm not disappointed about anything. It was nothing more than wasted space 11 months ago and now it's a major Transformers attraction.

YOU shouldnt be disappointed...nobody should. We did get an awesome new ride. I just think that those who figured this would be Universals biggest summer ever were mistaken, including Universal itself.

Universal wasn't expecting this to be their biggest summer ever. Transformers was done to avoid a massive tax bill, and to add a new attraction this summer to give people a reason to come back this year as well as next year.

Haters gonna hate....

Disney struggles with the teenage boy market, this will definitely tap that market.
Will it mean people from Europe book trips out to Orlando just for TF...?. Very few will but I still know at least 2 couples that will.

However, lots of people particularly Brits still only go to disney and stay on Disney property and don't leave for two weeks.... This will make people think twice about doing this.

There are 713 pages about this ride, look at how many new members (myself included) have joined because of the hype of this ride.
It's whipping up excitement all over!

Well the ride has got me to go to Singapore. When it was announced I knew I had to go ride it. Due to distance school and now Uni, its been hard to really take a long holiday (I should say vacation, as thats what you guys say, right?). So as I finally have a chance, when I can get away for a few weeks I can go to Singapore, as we have yet to go to the Universal there and we have visited all 3 US parks (and the US in general quite a lot over recent years). Plus my parents loved Singapore and its a lot closer meaning no 15 hour flights.

Max is around 1900, so yeah about correct. However, when one of the VTUs goes down the capacity plummets to 900. You... do not want to wait in that line.

When I was there, Transformers was a 130 minute wait for a majority of the day.

Um...you clearly dont understand the concept of "haters". Ive said numerous times how excited I am for this project and in fact I was the first to review the Florida ride on this forum and the review was glowing. Just because I am using what I know to predict crowd levels this summer doesnt make me anything more than what everyone else on this site is...a speculator.

My original post quite a few pages back was in response to a few posters hyping crowds and queue lines. The fact is Universal has not been any more busy than it is when it opens up any other new ride. Maybe Ive misunderstood the last 700 pages but it seems to me that everyone has hyped up crowds this summer.

If everyone here all agreed with each other what would be the point? Just like any other poster on a discussion board I used information I know and made a statement which contributed to discussion. And so far, Im the only one to actually have proof to back up this claim because have the crowds been exceptionally large? No, in fact they were larger at this same time last summer.

And by the way, talking about lack of crowds shouldnt be considered negative at all--we all should be happy that the parks arent insane and that we can go and actually enjoy our summers there.

We will see what happens with time

Can someone please point me to the part of this thread where everyone was hyping Summer crowds? I've read a good majority of it and I clearly don't remember anyone saying anything about how crazy the crowds would be. Excitement for the ride on the boards? sure. It's a placeholder addition until Potter next year. THAT is a summer where crowds should be hyped. This was a big addition, but it's no Potter. That said, Universal is definitely very pleased with the addition.

The biggest summer crowds haven't even come yet. July is always more busy than June anyway, so it is far too soon to be drawing conclusions about how popular this ride is.

The ride was also only announced 8 months ago. Not a long time for people to prepare to make or change vacation plans even if they wanted to.

And the opening date wasn't announced until May 1st. 50 days before it opened.

I see nothing about that where anyone is overhyping it. Just talking about possibilities. You're taking small things and blowing them way out of proportion because you for some reason seem to want the ride to be seen as a failure.

There are plenty of other posts that allude to huge crowds this summer but this summer will not be much different than other summers.

That's not hoping for failure, that's being realistic. You're blowing my arguments way out of proportion because for some reason you can't just accept what's been presented to you. Calm down, it's just a ride, and this is just a discussion; who cares if it gets long lines or not? I'd rather it not anyway so the parks aren't miserable the next few weeks.
