There are plenty of other posts that allude to huge crowds this summer but this summer will not be much different than other summers.

That's not hoping for failure, that's being realistic. You're blowing my arguments way out of proportion because for some reason you can't just accept what's been presented to you. Calm down, it's just a ride, who cares if it gets long lines or not? I'd rather it not anyway so the parks aren't miserable the next few weeks.

I don't even care, i'm just stating my point. Do I want it to be successful? Yes. Do I want to wait in a 2 hour+ line? Absolutely not. I'm just saying, the ride has barely been open and you're already trying to say that it's a failure in comparison to what we should have expected.

Honestly, for all I know, this ride could end up being huge and filling the park to capacity all summer. Maybe blacking out all of July will end up being justifiable after all. I'm simply stating my educated guess, that it will not be as crazy as some have thought. That has nothing to do with it being a failure, and at this point no one knows, it's simply a point for discussion.

I don't think anyone is implying this will rival the summer of 2010. Just that this is the most popular ride in USF now, because it is. And that being the newest, coolest ride means it will attract the same insane lines that other headliners around the resort will. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I believe Uni is just hoping to shave one more day off of people's WDW park days. And with half of DHS going to be behind walls soon, that is probably a good goal.

How many attractions and sections of DHS will be closed simultaneously?

I have friends who are Disney Vacation Club members and normally spend about 12 days every trip at Disney, but they will be visiting Universal for an extra day or 2 next week with me. I never thought they would step into Universal property, but they want to see Harry Potter and Transformers.

All of Streets of America and most of Echo Lake. We could see up to six out of the nineteen attractions close (Backlot Tour, Lights Motors Action, Honey I Shrunk The Kids, MuppetVision, American Idol, and Indiana Jones), and three of those are the largest attractions (space-wise) in the park (Backlot Tour, Lights Motors Action, and Indiana Jones). Although there is a chance MuppetVision and American Idol could stay, but those are small attractions.

More and more DVCers are boycoting Disney for extra days at UNI, myself included. Disney are also well aware of this hence the $399 annual pass offer. Iv'e been saying for a long time that Disney need to up their game, as yet I don't see that happening. With Uni making bigger and bigger steps Disney will lose more and more market share, and with HP2 and other projects in the works that will be tough to get back. Either way is fine in my book as I get great AP offers from Disney and great new rides at UNI whilst having fantastic accomodations to stay in.

Will be very intersting to see if UNI can overtake AKL or DHS in numbers through the gates, if that does happen surely Disney will then have to counter the threat. Exciting times ahead me thinks.

And Universal will have opened Transformers and Springfield. While not earth shattering. It will help keep that momentum going at drawing more guests to Universal. They will get an attendance bump out of this.

Not to mention, the new additions will help out crowd distribution in USF which will be very important next year.

2014 is going to be the year to watch with both Potter 2.0 and Cabana Bay open. And DHS will be in full construction mode then.

What's with all the construction at DHS. Don't tell me TDO have actually green lit something significant?

Disney Hollywood Studios is set to start construction the end of this year or the beginning of the next on a complete makeover the park, with Cars and Star Wars lands taking over HALF of the park. This will come with almost half of the park being closed for the next three to four years, which will convince MANY WDW visitors to take a trip to UOR, where Harry Potter part two, Transformers, and Springfield will be ready for visitors.

A smaller version without Luigi's and the street experience. It will most likely be Mater's Junkyard Jamboree and a modified Radiator Springs Racers without the racing segment. There is a chance we could see a PIXAR land instead.

Well at least it's something. Disney desperately needs some new stuff.
