On another note, I saw the truck roof projections working for the first time since September this past Thursday.

Look at that! Took them a while.
It's finally up on their website. Behind the scenes pics on the making of the AAs. This also reveals that not only did they make Kong, but they also made the worm in the queue. Makes sense as it does seem way more fluid than the bats.

How many trucks are they running now? I find it odd that yesterday this was the only ride with constant long lines. As this ride is supposed to have great capacity, I assume they still have running more than 2 trucks?
And this was supposed to be the people eater... I wonder if running two was the best way to fix the motion in the 360 room. Because that seems to be working again... But lines are well over an hour (up to 2 hours when I was there a couple weeks ago) with the spring break crowds and two just ain't cuttin' it.I've seen it with just two fairly often. It seems they shut down the exterior when it's just two to try and speed up the ride cycle to compensate.
Is the max 3 or is it 4? I forget. I know 5 isn't possible - you won't have two ADA trucks running at the same time.
Pretty sure it was said they could theoretically run 4, but if indeed they still have trouble running 3, then I doubt that will happen any time soon.I've seen it with just two fairly often. It seems they shut down the exterior when it's just two to try and speed up the ride cycle to compensate.

I spoke to the operators last year. I had a post earlier in the thread. They have 5 vehicles on site but can only run a maximum of four at one time. If they are having issues and can only run two at a time, they will not use the outside track, thus allowing for better capacity. If they are running three or four vehicles, they will always use the outside track, unless weather doesn't permit. So, if you see them using the outside track, it's three or four vehicles running. While not exactly proof that they've ran four, when we exited the 360 scene into Kong's room before the door shut behind us I saw the 360 film reset to the jungle and the door to the cave/swamp scene to Kate opened up (like I could see her getting grabbed by the weird crab thing). This meant that there was a vehicle right behind us. And the vehicle in the load station was just letting people on when we pulled up to unload, so I'm assuming the fourth vehicle had left right around when we were leaving the 360 room. Either that or they were running with a very big space between the vehicle in front of us and the one behind us, but that's definitely the spacing with which they could run four.
I would say it succeeds in filling out IOA a bit more and offering something different..I would say it is unsuccessful when put head to head with Spiderman and FJ..I think they have a lot invested in making Kong appear successful moreso than it actually being successful.
Never though to ask, but where are the vehicles stored while not in use? Where in the track do they enter/exit from the maintenance part?I spoke to the operators last year. Isn't it right before the unload?Never though to ask, but where are the vehicles stored while not in use? Where in the track do they enter/exit from the maintenance part?
Would that mean they back into maintenance?Isn't it right before the unload?
