Tear down Fallon and bring back Spooktacular!!! I have such “fond” vague memories of that show. As a young one, it legit terrified me. From the freaky pre-show with the dripping goo an audience member would be asked to contain/hold to the explosive finale… it always sent me running and sobbing out of the theater. I’d love to get the chance to see it again in some form!

So where are we thinking this could fit? Fallon? FFL?
I'm honestly not even sure it has been decided yet. I wouldn't be surprised to see a street show put together first to get something out before an indoor show is ready... But also, perhaps other spaces like sound stages or Blue Man Group could work too, so they could save time not having to build a new building.

I do not think Fallon is leaving any time soon though.

Did you see the new trailer for "Twisters" last night, all would be right in the world if Universal ever did a new take on that attraction and brought it back to the Studios

I think they have bigger priorities with bringing more Nintendo to the parks at the moment. While Ghostbusters may be popular, it's not Nintendo 13% increase in sales popular. Just adding a Ghostbusters presence back to the park with a show/parade/in park appearance will probably give them all they need.

I wouldn't have any interest in VillainCon 2.0 as a Ghostbusters attraction (we don't need any more "shoot at screens" stuff, especially if Luigi's Mansion is coming to Epic sooner than later), but a new special effects show? Absolutely!

I’d be okay with them [gutting] Fast and Furious [for] this.
Fixed that for you!

To me, the ideal locations for some kind of GB attraction would be (in order of preference):

1. A replacement for F&F: Supercharged.
2. Utilizing new-for-daily-theme-park-use space in the soundstages/backstage. An actual expansion!
3. Fear Factor's plot.

Somehow, I feel like we will just get the Spongebob treatment here... just a parade float, nighttime show segment, meet & greet, and a well-themed store with no attraction.

I guess I'll take (almost) any Ghostbusters I can get, but I think only a true, permanent-ish attraction could really afford the ability to include one of the signature elements of the property: the ghosts/creatures in physical space.

Yes, it would/will be great to see the boys roaming the park with the Ecto-1, and maybe they could stick Slimer in the back window like they used to do, but that's probably what you're limited to.

I’m happy to hear this is a serious rumor!

If they’re going to bring back Ghostbusters, it needs to be a ride that’s of Men In Black-caliber. Or something within that ballpark. If it’s going to be an omnimover shooter like Buzz or (God forbid) Villain Con….just bring back the Spooktacular show.

Also dump Fallon and bring back Twister.

If they did this, I'd want an original ride story set in San Francisco just to not hinder the existing outside area..
It's tough. I think GB does belong in New York, and it would be very easy to extend New York to encompass that plot if they wanted.

But I also wouldn't want to see San Francisco totally wiped out, either.

If it were to be a ride, I agree.

I'd be happy with a new show that's kind of a modern update of Spooktacular, though.

As a giant Ghostbusters fan, this brings me so much joy. Ghostbusters deserves better and I'm extremely happy that Universal has started to realize it.
The FFL plot would certainly have enough space for it!
Am I crazy for wanting Jaws to return on that plot? lol A more compact version obviously, but there is a ride system that is perfect for similar spaces to the FFL plot. Tho, I guess it could work for Ghostbusters.

Twister wasn't very good lol. It was a fun little attraction, but Fallon is a major upgrade in comparison.

It's tough because I want a giant dark ride for Ghostbusters *cough* replace MIB *cough*, but I also want Universal to utilize the Firehouse in New York.

That back portion of NY could be home to a massive show building if Rockit and the events building ever got removed.
Someone with the ability to measure acreage may correct me, but I’m curious about this space as well. Especially because I don’t think RRR in its current form is long for this world.

If you were to relocate the BoH gate next to the library facade, you could easily get about 1.2 acres or so of land back there. E.T. is ~1.5 acres.

So it's a good-sized piece of real estate.

JAWS 360 3D... yay more screenz
Twister wasn't very good lol
You're right, it wasn't good. It was GREAT! (Expensive) practical effects will always be better than a screen-based simulator
*cough* replace MIB *cough*
faint i cant GIF

USF is healing
Let's not get ahead of ourselves!

Only when a non-screen-heavy dark ride gets added* to the park will I consider the healing truly underway!

*As a new build or replacing one of the simulators/Fear Factor.

Supercharged and Fallon aren't going anywhere any time soon.
I believe you.

They should be, though. Universal has to be self-aware enough to know that Supercharged is one of the worst things they've ever done.
