Drop slides don't need major testing like other slides. They just need a visual inspection of the slide joints and make sure water is flowing. Send a rider, have him/she survive and you are good!
They can really just test a ride a single time and it's deemed safe? I feel like it couldn't be that simple.
 
its a slide, how would you test it other than that?
Doing many rounds? It might just be a slide but we're talking about something that human beings slide down at high speeds with bare skin contact. Just because it goes well a single time, doesn't mean it does every time.

Maybe I'm being overly anxious (I have pretty severe anxiety), but there's tons of other things including durability that come to mind that a single test couldn't cover.
