Drop slides don't need major testing like other slides. They just need a visual inspection of the slide joints and make sure water is flowing. Send a rider, have him/she survive and you are good!

They can really just test a ride a single time and it's deemed safe? I feel like it couldn't be that simple.

Geepers... no one has gone through the drop tubes yet. This seems to portend bad things.

I mean, the stairs still aren't bleeping done... I can't expect anyone is going up there until those are fully finished and themed...

Every night that Volcano erupts, tons of free publicity & marketing for Universal to the GP. All the icons together at WDW won't have that same effect. This is a genius move.

I think the Disney icons have already been cemented in the history of the world...

Outside of my worries with the tube for the major drop pod as it goes down alongside the two pools, that should be fine.

But the GP will see this every day they pass by, without having to enter the parks. Instant marketing at no cost.

Doing many rounds? It might just be a slide but we're talking about something that human beings slide down at high speeds with bare skin contact. Just because it goes well a single time, doesn't mean it does every time.

Maybe I'm being overly anxious (I have pretty severe anxiety), but there's tons of other things including durability that come to mind that a single test couldn't cover.

Pro Slide has installed many drop slides in the past and probably know all the issues that could occur so that they can easily fix it for Volcano.

No need to worry, according to @Andy slides or pools that are closed are due to nearby construction, not because the slides are not ready.

This begs the question - why don't we have bio pics from Pandora?
