That's an awful lot of concrete and sculpting, they gonna be kept busy for sure. Should be interesting watch this start coming to life in the final stages.

Another question if I may, where the heck will all the water come from? tankers or mains?
the hoses will be running forever once they start filling. Hope they're not on a water meter LOL

Luckily there's no shortage of water in Florida.

Most fountains are circulated... so there is a mega concrete tank at the base that pumps the water right back up to the top, round and round. Same goes for the wave pool... filtered and pumped. Perhaps they both use the same tank as the waterfalls appear to be going into the wave pool.

Too, I believe the massive concrete tank is deep in the foundation to the left as you look at the waterfalls from the wave pool beach. I recall assuming that way back when the foundations were poured.

Yeah, I'd like to see the look on the Comcast CEO's face when he opens that first month's water bill. :jaw:

All the water may come from the retention ponds and filtered and chlorinated on site. I believe Bilge Rats is drained and refilled from the IOA lagoon. It's all krazy daisy.

That makes sense I guess. It's not like that water is septic, and it probably would refill fairly quickly in Florida.

Not to ruin everyone's day, but the water probably becomes septic after all the children and adults go the easy route instead of to the bathrooms. I would expect Universal to have top notch filtration/chlorination systems. The circulation rate would fascinate me.

One of my biggest regrets is that I never met a member of Uni water management. How they control and direct the water in the summer months would be so interesting... to me. ;)

I wonder who engineered the wave pool? I don't believe it would be the slide company. Who specializes in that wacky tech? Anyone speak up.

In the article on the Universal Blog they said the volcano eruption water is from Zwitserland. When you look at the video you see a hole and a circular cut out in the drop slide platform where trough waterfalls flow down. Looking at the total picture 3 stream end up in a very wide stream but I wouldn't be surprised that there are actually different levels that loop constantly so they don't need to pump it all the way to the top. Only the waterfalls that would enter the pool are a part of that pool system. (just my theory).

The shape of the volcano is amazing.
In the middle of fantasy and sci fi style.
Good choice from UC to differentiate themselves from Blizzard and Typhoon.

Plus the view from outside the Gates , this is an EPIC landmark !
Can't wait for the lightning and water effects.

okay, so it does not get foggy in Orlando too much but today, it was rather dense. Viewpoints many will have just coming upon the Valcano from a distance I know it's going to look so terrified and eerie in the distance when there are low clouds or fog. It really brought the Valcano out. Just saying it will be a cool scene to walk into as a guest coming through the entry.
