Yes, if it included certain things like food and drink, then a higher price point could be done. I agree with that.

I still think the theme park label is going to backfire on them a little. It is going to confuse people and when that happens people get upset because they were expecting one thing and got a different thing. I agree by definition it is a theme park, but I think there is a reason Disney separates them out as water parks and it is because they don't want the confusion.

I think other than saying "our 3rd park rises" and some PR jargon, most of the marketing has VB labeled as a "Water Theme Park". I'm sure when the actual "Come Visit" marketing kicks in, it'll convey that it's a water park. There's always going to be those, even with the most simplest of explanations, that still get confused. If they drive up to this thinking it's not a water park, that's their fault.

Agreed, if they change it close to actual opening, then it should be good. But if people go to Universal and think it is Disney, it is not hard to confuse tourists lol

Tell me about it... Can't tell you the number of times I've been at Magic Kingdom or DHS and have been asked for directions to "Hogwarts" because they can't find it on the map lol.

I really never got it until a couple months ago when I was at Universal Studios and this family was talking to me and how they thought this was Disney and how they thought their 4 day pass would work here. They even bought express (which you would think that would be a clue it was a different park since they were at AK the day before) and then got to the gate and realized their tickets would not work. So instead they converted their express into tickets (paid more of course) and they really didn't know if their son could ride anything or would like the park. Until that point I never believed half the stories I heard because I couldn't believe anyone was that silly.

It really is that bad! I was waiting to buy a coke in front of the Imagination Pav and the dad in front of me asked the clerk where Cat in the Hat was. Even the clerk was clueless and didn't know what to say. Being me, I spoke up and told the dad that it was at UOR and he looked at me like I was rude for cutting in, shook his head and walked away at the same time telling his son, "We'll find it!".

I just find it so tough to believe that CBBR prices will stay around what they are now once VB opens. You'll be able to practically walk out of bed and into VB and with Sapphire next door, there's now close-by water service should one want it. And of course City walk and the parks is only about a 10 minute walk away.

This may be the one selling point that keeps Volcano Bay automatically ahead. It's the only water park that will have over 2000 rooms in Immediate Walking Distance. That alone should be a selling point.

And 2000 rooms probably translate into 6,000 to 7,000 guests.

If I was staying there with Volcano Bay open, you bet your ass I'd be at Volcano Bay instead of the pool.

Yes, even in "Traditions" training at WDW they would tell CM's not to just call DHS the "Studios" park because there could be confusion with that other park. They even did comparisons to a fictitious "Global Studios" park in their training, but that was about 8 years ago, I've heard the whole Traditions training keeps getting cut back as Disney doesn't care about that anymore

Idk if this question has been answered yet or not, but have they said anything about if the park will be included in AP admission or seperate?

All they have said regarding tickets so far is that they will offer an "Explorer" ticket that includes all three parks, nothing specific about annual passes.

Yep, used to be three days now it is one. They are losing the traditions.

But on a VB note I want to see the Proscenium pass that gets you into all the parks plus has perks above the Premier pass. Just take my money for the next few years.

This may sound childish, but being I love Universal, if it's apart of the annual pass options, it could seriously entice me to add it and finally sped more time at a water park.

Agreed Scott. It's almost like having a bigger version of Coco Key right in your backyard of the hotel.

You people are giving me a better idea of why the VB gate price might be over the top... :)

I kind of wonder if admission to the park will ONLY be available through a multi-day/multi-park ticket.

That is a terrible name for a pass. If they keep with the P's, I guess next would be Platinum?

They tried metals and went to the movie references.

I imagine capacity would be of concern

This is the same size as the other water parks in the area, it has a theme like the other water parks in the area, while I am excited that it has some thrill rides, it is still a water park. It won't be priced as a theme park. If they do, it will be a mistake. People will just go elsewhere. While it is cool and probably worth an extra $10 a day, no way this is worth $50 more than the other water parks.

Also, I think it is a huge mistake to market it as a 3rd park. it is not a 3rd park. It is a water park and should be marketed as a water park. Tourist get sooooo confused over the simplest thing. Can you imagine them going to the "3rd theme park" and not realizing it is a water park?

I disagree. It can easily be argued Discovery cove is a water park but due to the unique amenties, people wouldn't dare put that moniker on there. We truly don't know what the park has and I remember people prejudged the park when the layout came out and then the next day when we actually got news about the attractions it became a totally different story with people back tracking. It is time to just wait.
