I don't think the panel fills the full space and is likely going to be recessed a bit. It definitely fits around a walkway or door in some manner.

Do we have a checklist of what else all needs done?
  • Back of the volcano.
  • Trees trees trees trees
  • Yellow slide with the gysers
  • Tallest drop slide
  • Remove slide plastics
  • Sand on the beach
  • Massive tidy up
  • Clean the waters
I'm guessing there's more but I still think there's a good chance 99% of everything will be ready.

Looking at the pics, the back of the Volcano is done IMO. They are still building steps, but I can't see anywhere they have anchor points to add more rock.

Trees are easy with more people.

I think they've been testing the yellow slide. The geysers are a question mark, but I don't see that taking more than a week to fix.

They've had water in the tallest drop slide for a while. Is there something suggesting it's not done?

Ride plastic covers take a day tops to remove.

They could sand the whole place in a couple days if they needed to.

Tidying and detail work can take time. without knowing the final product's appearance its hard to say what they have left.

Water cleaning, and specifically the lazy rivers couldn't take too long as long as everything is functional.

Other things:

They still have roofs to finish on that group of 4 buildings on the north side. I'm not sure what those are. Maybe picnic shelters? Either way, they can have that finished in a day of two if totally necessary.

Still got to assemble all of the beach furniture. Won't take long but still.

I wonder if they are going to put walls, either hard or just cloth, on the cabanas. I can't see them being left in their current open on all sides state.

They are still doing rockwork in the kids area. Looks like its close to done though.

Theres a bunch of random projects going on. Nothing individually that takes long. They just need to throw manpower at them to get them done.

The big one is testing and problem fixing. We don't know if they've had problems with systems testing. That would be the only thing that I could see be a problem a month from now. Otherwise, I don't see anything concerning me for a company like this to complete on time. This isn't a government bid project that you'd expect overruns and delays on. This is a motivated company willing to spend money.

Don't forget the testing of the volcano eruption itself. We still haven't seen that. Or the multi-directional wave pool get fired up. If Either of those don't work as planned, we have major problems to likely the two biggest features of the park.

Is all the lighting done? Electrical problems could be easy or take significant time- same with plumbing.

Once the rockwork is done, all lights are on, all slides/sprayers/wave pool/jets (like in lazy river) are tested- then I'll feel much better.
Towels, furniture, plastic on slides, soft landscaping (trees/plants/flowers/mulch) are all very very minor and can be done extremely quickly.
But as it stands, there's a crap ton of major work still needed to be done and/or tested/adjusted on this place. Not to mention the chaos that will be Tapu Tapu the first month+.

Let's just say I'm glad I'm going in September and not May ;)

Looking at all of these most recent photos, it strikes me how much more they have to finish and plant on the west side (turkey lake side) of the park. This last month is going to be on TILT!

Too, I am not sure they have left any space next to the turkey lake sidewalk to plant a dense blind as they did with the Cabana Bay parking garage just north of there.

I went to google streetview last night and while it didn't mean anything to us way back, the first building finished on the property (long before the volcano began to rise) was the large pump house building. You can see it being finished on streetview yet completely empty of pump equipment. In hindsight, it must have been the infrastructure hub for much of the water piping.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet but yes we've been testing the Tapu Tapu and you'll be able to get one attraction at a time on your queue however that does count for the water coaster. You'll be able to add it on top of any the one ride in your virtual queue. ;)

Yes it's the only attraction allowed to be coupled with another attraction in VB. Otherwise it's one attraction at a time.

So have we established if tapu tapu assigns a time immediately or if it just buzzes like a pager when it's ready for you?

Cool.I'm guessing they're really pushing this as their headlining ride, especially awesome as it seems like people of all ages can enjoy. Once you ride the water coaster, can you add it again along with other rides or is it once per day?

So if anyone has been following my obsessive posts over the last month of breaking down aerial shots trying to obtain clues that the rear portion of the volcano was yet to be installed you will probably have agreed with me up until a couple weeks ago all signs were there that there was still potential for that to happen. However the last couple weeks have been diapointing, firstly the large concrete footers with bolts that were all lined up and at what appeared to be the correct angle for steel to create that large rock work projecting into the sky that is currently missing were removed from the base of the volcano. That for a start is rather substantial as I'm sure they were for the rear portion as they were cast right at the very beginning a year ago and to remove them means something significant has changed.

Now looking at the latest view below the highlighted section in my mind almost confirms that we are not getting what was shown in the promo videos and lets be honest those videos have been incredibly accurate considering they are using them for tv adds they have to be. What we should be seeing in the highlighted area is the rock work wrap around the top of the coaster exit out of the mountain and then on the right a large spiked piece of rock project towards the sky breaking up the empty looking open back of the volcano. What we are seeing below is suggesting otherwise, for example the rounded painted edge of the volcano on the left of the coaster suggests no more rock to be added, however we have seen them already add to this area so can't rule it out. The rather significant development though is the rock on the right that looks like it is ending just at the height of the coaster, basically this replaces that large piece that would have been bolted to the floor, although it looks clear it has nearly reached a finishing height just above the right hand side of the coaster supports and create a cave like entrance to the volcano from the river rapids.

As much as I am feeling disappointed its not the end of the world its just visual. I have a feeling the rock remaining really would have helped make the back of the volcano not look so exposed but we can still hope. As for the peice that was spotted at the stage area I think this maybe installed on the right hand side as they still have the concrete supports in position on the ground. I can't visualise how it fits yet but its my only guess right now.

Yeah that whole area at the back of the volcano is looking rough. The only option they really have at this point is to "bamboozle" it up. Looks like a NYC construction project encased with faux rock work... and we're only 3 weeks away from showtime. :ack:

So I'm a little confused, where is that big potato chip supposed to go that @Disneyhead found at Nassal a week or two ago?

^I think that has already been installed on the east side of the volcano, where the two trap door body slides exit the rockwork.

I think the chip might just go on the ground near the lazy river somewhere? I agree with Dan B that it appears they have scrapped the pointed/exploding rockwork shown in the concept art. It must have been a last minute decision based on the late removal of footers and how accurate Universal's concept art tends to be. Very disappointing but at least they added that last minute mini rockwork around the volcano's lazy river entrance in its place.

There still is that "floating mountain" thingy at Nassal that needs to be levitated in place. So, again, wait until it's done.

Is anyone actually positive that that large piece is actually going to be part of the volcano? Are we sure it wasn't perhaps a mockup of texture and color? I can think of no reason it would have been prefabbed off site only to be moved later.

This park looks like absolute paradise. I cannot contain how excited I am to go during the summer.
Also special shoutout to all the people that help develop and update this thread day-to-day.

I thought I saw on twitter a couple weeks ago that someone saw a test eruption. No pics or vids, but that was the claim.
