They have like 20 days left to wrap everything up. The last week should be cleaning everything up and testing. Look how far in advance Pandora has press walking through the land, and it's a land, not a park. Volcano Bay also needs time for this.

They are on 24/7 crews, and that this was fully announced months ago. If you really think they would've cut the plug a few weeks before even opening, then that would mean that they would not only have to deal with refunds, but also other inquiries that would cost them thousands of dollar's.

It's not uncommon that theme parks don't have things working a hundred percent when something new opens. Hell, it's fairly often that I've seen things like it occur. And that it's not like a new ride where you can delay it for a week to calibrate and make sure that everything is ready. You are dealing, with a new park. A new, Highly elaborate, highly detailed water park that prides itself on theme park aesthetics and experiences.

That, is how I classify Volcano Bay. It is, for a lack of a word of speaking; a Water "Theme" Park, just the same as how Blizzard; Typhoon, and Yas Waterworld are in my eyes. Odd's are, they only need to do one major piece left, that being installing that mountain piece that is currently at Nassal HQ.

Then, they can clean around, make sure everything is ready and all set. Will everything be operational and ready on the first day? Most likely not, but every park in the world, Amusement or themed; has had issues starting up a new season for them in numerous occasions.

I am more open minded to it.

You know in other countries you're required to stop at red light and REMAIN stopped even if making a right turn, no?

We passed a law changing that during an oil crisis when gas cost a small fortune to keep idle times down and conserve on fuel.

Not everything is what it seems on the surface based nor understood through the filter of your personal experience.

Hearing too many excuses on why this wouldn't be ready to go on the 25th. I understand that things happen, but if this ends up being like the SF opening, I'll be disappointed. You expect more from companies like Universal, Disney, and even the SeaWorld parks.

Really at this point what you say doesn't do anything for me. Considering what you've been saying about Pandora is further from the truth. Criticizing how Disney is using plastic. Pathetic. It's called recycling if you care that much. You just look for things to nitpick. If the nitpicking was acutally something substantial, I'd let it slide but it's just been so obnoxious.

What I meant by the "red light" comment was justifying something because that something was done in the past is weak and it doesn't make it right.

Here is the thing, no company is perfect.

We may all want them too, but there have been many times that Disney, Universal, Merlin, pretty much everyone in the entire entertainment industry that has had mistakes and that they weren't ready.

For prime example, in Japanese animation, they have to rush through animation, and then they come back to touch it up and to make sure it looks much more proper in it's fully fledged format when it comes to animation. There have been many examples, far too many to mention.

Themed Entertainment, live, are no different. You will not always have the perfect experience the first time, as they will eventually update themselves, and improve upon themselves, via guest feedback; as the park's, attractions, and experiences continue to evolve and improve on themselves.

That, is my outlook on this. Am I happy with it most likely being a DL/Epcot situation? No. But I fully acknowledge that not every themed company is the end-all, be-all, know-all.

John Hammond spent every expense possible to ensure that everything could be perfect..all that it took, was some fat, arrogant, insanely disgusting, technologically advanced man (At the time) to ruin everything and that hell broke loose on that Island.

Everything should be ready for opening; operations has already begun their training, which is a good sign.

I have no doubts, that every ride will be online.

I think what Mike is worried about, is that they won't have the themed aspects completed fast enough, which even then; it's only a few things that have to be installed.

Day 1 of Ops training is how to stand in front of the ride and tell people it's not working.

And in the process taught us all a valuable lesson - we'd be down for Banshee: The Musical or Banshee The Animated Series.

We could totally do without the weresmurfs.

Do we have a checklist of what else all needs done?
  • Back of the volcano.
  • Trees trees trees trees
  • Yellow slide with the gysers
  • Tallest drop slide
  • Remove slide plastics
  • Sand on the beach
  • Massive tidy up
  • Clean the waters
I'm guessing there's more but I still think there's a good chance 99% of everything will be ready.

Looking at the pics, the back of the Volcano is done IMO. They are still building steps, but I can't see anywhere they have anchor points to add more rock.

Trees are easy with more people.

I think they've been testing the yellow slide. The geysers are a question mark, but I don't see that taking more than a week to fix.

They've had water in the tallest drop slide for a while. Is there something suggesting it's not done?

Ride plastic covers take a day tops to remove.

They could sand the whole place in a couple days if they needed to.

Tidying and detail work can take time. without knowing the final product's appearance its hard to say what they have left.

Water cleaning, and specifically the lazy rivers couldn't take too long as long as everything is functional.

Other things:

They still have roofs to finish on that group of 4 buildings on the north side. I'm not sure what those are. Maybe picnic shelters? Either way, they can have that finished in a day of two if totally necessary.

Still got to assemble all of the beach furniture. Won't take long but still.

I wonder if they are going to put walls, either hard or just cloth, on the cabanas. I can't see them being left in their current open on all sides state.

They are still doing rockwork in the kids area. Looks like its close to done though.

Theres a bunch of random projects going on. Nothing individually that takes long. They just need to throw manpower at them to get them done.

The big one is testing and problem fixing. We don't know if they've had problems with systems testing. That would be the only thing that I could see be a problem a month from now. Otherwise, I don't see anything concerning me for a company like this to complete on time. This isn't a government bid project that you'd expect overruns and delays on. This is a motivated company willing to spend money.

Have they tested the aqua coaster yet? I would think that attraction would be the most prone to technical issues. I assume they have been testing since there are photos of rafts at the station. However, there always seems to be tarps covering the slide at some point so its hard to say if it has been fully tested yet. Probably done at night if it has when less works are around the area and the track is more free.

There have been rafts seen at the station.

And Water Coasters have seemed to be rather reliable.

I would agree, if it wasn't for a fact we saw some work go throughout a part of the Volcano more recently. I think they can easily add anchor points, rather quickly; and that with the backside of Volcano Bay's Krakateau Mountain piece at Nassal HQ, I am assuming that we will see that come up soon.

It's always possible, I just don't see it. If that was for the volcano and still planned to be put on, they'd be accounting for it. Instead, if you look down the right and left sides of the big hole, both sides are finished and painted. I can't see anywhere to tie it into the existing rockwork. Why do all that finish work if you are going to have to undo it to tie in new stuff?

Maybe it's just my own ego, but I have to bet that the backside piece will be put on, and that we'll see signs of it in the coming day's ahead.
