That is tough because everything currently at Area15 is some cleverly named so something cheesy won't fly.

Universal's Halloween Horror Nights - The Vault Collection (or just HHN), I think the HHN branding has to be a part of the name as it has huge name recognition now.

I'm interested in seeing how many actors end up being utilized here, year-round haunts, heck even regular HHN this past year, had staffing issues. I'm sure they will be relying more on special effects/scenic design for this.

They really need to go all in on this, I think we can expect 9/10 on most daily scenarios houses will be fully staffed.

On the Vegas Reddit people have been pointing out parking is a nightmare for Area15 on busy weekends and I bet this attraction draws even more people to this area.....so hope they make parking avaiable so people dont have to uber to get to see these on busy seasons.

Its a very easy drive from Area15 to the strip, like less then 15 mins to get back to your hotel

Area 15 is planning to open in Orlando too next year (Off Daryl Carter just south of the Cheesecake factory you can see from I-4) But I can't imagine this would ever be at that location.

I'm pretty sure the plans for the expansion include the construction of a new parking garage, which should help alleviate these concerns.

Vital Vegas has a bit more info and pics at the end of their article. They once again mention that Vegas has already had two other attempts at year round haunts (the already mentioned Goretorium and the Fear the Walking Dead experience right in downtown Freemont Street--had done that one too), and they didn't work out all that well. But they also admit Universal has more clout and backing.

Of most interest to here on the forum are the pics at the end, showing proposed sketches of what the new expanded area will look like, called Area 15 District.

Universal Parks & Resorts has confirmed it's bringing a permanent horror-themed "entertainment experience" to Las Vegas. The location: A just-approved

This is my biggest, most pressing thought about an all-year round HHN 'thingy'. One of the special sauce ingredients that make haunted house attractions great in general is how they're able to go balls to the wall due to it being such a seasonal experience. Actors can go crazy every night because they're working however long three or four nights a week for two months out of the year. Unless you expect to just have a constantly changing cast I think it'd be hard to implement an HHN house that operates all year round.

Some possible solutions: Maybe they will go into it thinking they'll have actors that constantly come and go in order to keep up with how crazy it would be scare acting all year long. Maybe the mazes will rely less on actor scares and more so on environmental, atmospheric, sight or revolutionary scares. I also wonder if the entire thing will be open all year round but the house(s) inside it would be closed every so often (two months on, two weeks off/one month off)?

Really fascinated to see what the whole thing ends up looking like. I've never been that into the idea of Vegas as a vacation spot because I'm not a big party/drinking/gambling person but things like this and the other stuff in Area 15 perk my interests!

I think we're looking at something with the technical sophistication of The Walking Dead Experience from USH, so they can cut back on the cast.

We're the same, but still often find plenty to do in Vegas. Aside from the never ending options of food/restaurants and shows to try and see, as well as the massive shopping/mall options, we enjoy:
  • Pinball Museum
  • Springs Preserve/State Museum
  • Mob Museum
  • Zac Bagan's Haunted Museum
  • Ethel M Factory tour and Desert Botanical Garden
  • Bellagio Conservatory
  • Container Park
  • Neon Museum
  • Valley of Fire State Park
  • Nightmare Toys & Cafe, Slice Pizza
  • In Boulder: Tom Devlin's Monster Museum, Hoover Dam, and the amazing Railroad trail
And Pinkbox donuts are now a must do for me in Vegas.

My rule of thumb in Vegas is no more than 72 hours otherwise you feel you need to either shower for a week or move there.

Tons of great shows and restaurants too. Plus exploring the various hotels is fun!

I mark new things off my list each time I go (which incidentally has never been for more than 4 days at a time). Neon Museum has perennially been there for me to complete.

The Vegas Go pass is a steal if your willing to get up a little early and start at the Mob Museum, I got on like 8+ attractions with my Go City Pass and its 124 bucks.....The Hunger games attraction is 40 bucks alone, along with Marvels attraction (which is 50 bucks) basically get the Go City Pass and you will never be bored if you like attractions
It also includes one of the attractions at Area15, so might be worth looking into if you want to check this place out but dont want to spending 30 bucks on an hour or less attraction (not saying area15 is less then an hour but most of its attractions are)

You had me at Zac Bagan's. Say no more! I'd really love to do Omega Mart, that's right up my alley. Cool to hear that there's plenty of other interesting things to do out there, I'll definitely consider it for the future!

TO give you an idea of what the district will look like/layout. This seems like a city walk looking area kinda like the Linq promenade.

Work expected to begin within 6 months according to the Vegas review journal
"Universal Parks & Resorts will anchor the new territory with its year-round horror experience, inspired by its Halloween Horror Nights-themed event at Universal Studios. Work on that attraction is expected to begin in six months." Area15 to expand; repurposed Boeing 747 in the plans

Smart, no Halloween (seasonal) and no Nights (as I guess it also will be open during the day).
