Hey everyone! Been a lurker here for a while but a first time poster. The one thing I haven't seen mentioned on here from the spec map is that the bloody film reel has 5 panes on it. This leads me to think that that is Scream V, since that's the movie we're rumored to be getting and not the original. I understand why people want to draw a connection with the magnifying glass and the ghost, but a magnifying glass isn't the same thing as a spyglass which is completely different. That looks like a ghost hunter reference in my opinion, and if you go look on Reddit u/IKnowMoreThanYouu (Pinhead Guy) over there dropped that he's heard The Conjuring thrown around, which would make sense with Ed and Lorraine Warren being ghost hunters and all. Just some thoughts!

Conjuring and scream in the same year would be so crazy considering those are two houses that almost were. I’m all for a conjuring universe mashup house if they bring the intensity that insidious had

When it comes to the ghost in the magnifying glass, if the connection is more of a ghost hunter/paranormal expert, you could absolutely apply Poltergeist to that. For some reason or another, folks think that house could be returning to Hollywood. Be a good chance for that coast to do a better job than 2018's version.

Now over here for Orlando, bit of a different story as they did a kick-ass job with theirs. It was my #1 house that year, so my feelings on a return would be a little mixed. That said, it's been seven years since the first house, which is a better gap between them than say AWIL.

This is exactly what Pinhead on reddit talked about actually. Basically there are so many characters like the Nun, Crooked Man, Annabelle, etc. they could do something similar to Insidious or just base it around one of those characters since there are so many options.

And if the spec map has the location correct that would make that the mega house location. Walking though the occult with the Annabelle doll at the end of the hall with all the conjuring universe characters popping out on both sides (similar to how the finale room in insidious was last year) would be so sick

I hate to be that guy, but I just realized why Horrors of Blumhouse *likely* isn’t in the map:

It’s their backup plan in case Scream falls through. You could easily shove M3gan and Black Phone in there.

*M3gan... answers the black phone*
"hello?"
"Hello M3gan
How.. who are you?"
"That isn't important.. say, do you like scary movies?"
*giggles* "of course"
"What's your favorite scary movie?"
"Anything Blumhouse, but I'm biased"

One thing I haven't seen mentioned - if we see a Lagoon show, there's a few properties here with good music that could translate to a lagoon show. Fallout, FNAF, M3GAN, Terrifier (I assume?)

If FNAF does happen, I’m just excited for the inevitable disappointment when it doesn’t live up to a decade of dreams.

I think the absolute most someone should expect from a FNAF house is "fun"

didn't someone else already said it's not gonna happen ( or on Twitter or the discord or something?) I remember getting upset about this already

Yeah, if we do end up getting multiple big IP's this year, ten houses will do just fine.
And once again, multiple big IP's are probably the best way to counter the loss of HRRR this year.

I will say, I'm hoping we get a second show somewhere. Ideally a lagoon show as I do like that's something you can pop in and out without spending too much time, plus it is out of the way of the main paths. If there's a stage in front of central park, that's unfortunately a nasty Catch-22. On one hand, it's a show which is needed...but it can also be quite the choke point, even when the show isn't running.

Last year without the lagoon show and no meghan hoard I felt like the park wasnt as entertaining outside the houses. The vamp scarezone had such great energy. I missed energy in thr scarezones last year

This is the definition of a nitpick, and I fully believe it can be chalked up to clip-art shorthand and such, but a magnifying glass =/= a spyglass.

I'm honestly worried that it won't even be fun because of all the teens who will flock to this house and be annoying about it lol.

People are also assuming that clue meant Scream.

I think there’s a very real, even likely frankly, possibility that HNN didn’t mean for that symbol to represent Scream (he’s kind of hinted as much on his Discord).

I personally still think Scream is the bloody film reel (“what’s your favorite scary movie”) and while I know some people on here are adamantly against it, I also still think the ghost being investigated with the magnifying glass is supposed to be Conjuring (The symbol seems to pretty clearly imply “paranormal investigation” and that is literally what the Conjuring films are about).

I know we are not meant to put much stock into the locations of the symbols as they are subject to intense change, but one very weak piece of evidence that the bloody film reel is Scream is that the Christmas spec map for Hollywood had the ghost with five lights on the UBE venue, and now it has the bloody film reel with five panes. If you want to make the assumption that the ghost symbol -> the film reel, that is additional support.

Personally, I am in favor of that interpretation, just because I think anything non-Scream that would be the magnifying glass/ghost (such as Conjuring, Poltergeist, even wacky ideas like Ghostwatch or Scooby Doo) would be more appealing to me than the likely non-Scream film reel (Horrors of Blumhouse).

My beloved Zyborgs will have to wait another year.

If the ghost with the magnifying glass is not supposed to be Scream then it would seem to indicate some kind of finding ghosts thing.

HNN said not to focus on the locations at all and I especially would not focus on locations from that Christmas map.
