Circling back to this, I would honestly be down for a storybook treatment with Krampus. I absolutely loved that direction/aesthetic with Revenge of the Tooth Fairy, and Krampus could fit well very well with that.

Obviously not exactly analagous, but hearing about a more mythical rendition of Krampus coming this year makes me think a lot about Murder House Production's indie krampus house from a couple years back and it really gets me thinking how much opportunity there is for interpretation and stylism for such a basic concept. Really hope they get creative with the established concepts and play on the fact that it's such a malleable story.

I think Phantom of the Opera is famous enough on its own, even if it's just by tangential association to the musical.

But how many people would be drawn in specifically by a Hunchback haunted house? Most people now are probably most familiar with the Disney version unfortunately.

I totally agree, but at the same time I don't think that disqualifies them outright. So long as the title has "Universal Monsters" and some kind of vague subtitle, even if Phantom and Quasi are on the key art or something, just having the brand recognition of the Universal Monsters name is enough to draw people in even if they don't know much about the specific characters included.
