I wonder about the simple logistics of getting each guest his/her wristband and getting each guest up to speed on how to use them - and what that could mean for lines as you enter the park.

Will there be some sort of reception area beyond the turnstiles (like in Discovery Cove) where groups will be given their bands and offered a quick tutorial on their use? Or will it just be a "Here's your wristband, figure it out as you go" kind of thing?

It's not like this technology is as simple or as obvious as something like 3D Glasses (that is familiar and easily understood). I gotta believe that because this technology is new, that these wristbands will require some form of basic instruction on their use. Even if that takes just a minute or two, it seems that could cause delays upon entering the park.

I'll be interested to see how Universal handles it.

I would assume the screen on the band will have a tutorial that automatically loads when you receive the band, which could be skipped if you have been there before.

Seems pretty likely that this will be the Volcano Bay System, but I do have some doubt as I remember seeing a Uni Exec talking on a recent promo video about how proud they were that the Tapu Tapu system had been designed and produced in house.

Sorry but can't find the video I am thinking about to back this up, I swear I saw it though, anyone?

I believe I read it in an article not that long ago when the latest Universal promo video was released. As Disneyhead said, maybe regarding the software and not the actual band physical band itself.

Separate topic, night show mentioned here:

Cool to see that confirmed.

So it got me thinking- we know the restaurant is in the park beyond the gates. And now we know there is a show.
If the restaurant needs an attendance boost, and the show is good, they could easily allow guests to just eat there who don't have park tickets just to watch the show. There are plenty who don't want to go to a water park but would still want to see the show. That would be a good way to see it.

I think the restaurant will be much more popular than we first thought.

I kind of wonder if there will be an entrance into the restaurant from Cabana Bay.

That's an awful lot of concrete and sculpting, they gonna be kept busy for sure. Should be interesting watch this start coming to life in the final stages.

Another question if I may, where the heck will all the water come from? tankers or mains?
the hoses will be running forever once they start filling. Hope they're not on a water meter LOL

All the water may come from the retention ponds and filtered and chlorinated on site. I believe Bilge Rats is drained and refilled from the IOA lagoon. It's all krazy daisy.

Going back to this real quick. Looks like they tapped into a 36" water main coming out with 16" pipe to supply VB with water. I would guess the initial fill would be fresh potable water and not reclaimed water from the retention ponds, just a guess on my part. There may ave been a 12x6 tap connecting to existing reclaim service but wouldn't think 6" would be larger enough to move that much water. Again all speculation on my part since i have no idea how water systems work with water parks but do have experience with other forms of water systems

With pipe that massive they could probably fill the park faster than we think. Also @UK-Trigg you can guarantee the what ever municipality supplies water to them has a meter on that sucker, lol. That is their cash register.

I'd hate to see the utility bill :)

Not exactly news, but here's some of the promotional art being used on Uni's site for all three parks together.

Does anybody else find it odd that there is zero Harry Potter in this?
Sort of, but at the same point having the Dragon or Hogwarts in here would seem out of place with the tone of the imagery I feel. If they were to add one, it'd probably have to be Hogwarts and I feel that it'd make the left side look too busy. From a visual perspective, the choices they put in here make sense.

They also do have a slide for Harry Potter that comes right after too, so it's still very visible on the page this is on.

Not really.

This image specifically is showcasing the 3 icons of the 3 parks and they want to make a point of showing off Krakatau. Add in Hogwarts as you did (not that you did a bad job) and it begins to make the Volcano feel less special and the eye isn't as naturally attracted to it.

This really isn't a piece of art to showcase rides, but more so the 3 parks and their associated skylines.
