FlexPass going away is probably not good for SeaWorld. I wonder what percentage of SeaWorld's guests use the FlexPass.

I honestly think there will be no AP for Volcano Bay and it definitely wouldn't be included in existing passes. Especially not the first season.

They really don't want the park clogged with locals who come in for practically nothing as many times as they want. They probably also don't want to overwhelm the queueless line system until they know it can take it.

Especially at their new water park. Don't forget, they owned Wet n Wild for years before bulldozing it. I think in every way VB is designed to correct the mistakes made at WnW.

Quoting for truth.

Been told there is a ______ Pass with VB for each season or annual pass.

Looks like they are calling it the 3-Park Explorer Ticket now. It's available on the website as part of a Hotel/Tickets package.

The Universal Orlando™ 3 Park Explorer Ticket entitles one (1) guest admission to Universal Studios Florida™, Universal's Islands of Adventure™, Universal's Volcano Bay™ Water Theme Park, and select live entertainment venues of Universal CityWalk™ on all days during a fourteen (14) consecutive calendar day period which includes the first day any portion of the ticket is used. The ticket will expire in full on the expiration date printed on ticket. Unused days shall be forfeited. TICKET IS VALID STARTING JUNE 1, 2017.

I would not be surprised to see an "After 4PM Annual Pass (with blackouts).

Wait, Volcano Bay tickets cost as much as USF and IOA tickets?

I'm sorry Universal, but that's just plain ridiculous. I don't care if it's the best themed water park in the world, that's way too much for me. Guess I'll wait until a deal to go there...

I don't know where people are getting that it's the same price as IOA or USF.

A 3 Day/2 Park Ticket of just USF and IOA is $254.99

A 3 Day/3 Park Ticket of USF, IOA, and VB is $294.99

It's only an extra $40 for the water park.

I think they are referring to the one day one park tickets that are the same for all three parks.

The concept of a one and done day at Universal is now a thing of the past. Universal is officially becoming a full resort multi-day experience like Disney.

I am convinced Universal is pricing out the average local to manage crowds at the park. Very few locals will pay $105 per person for a visit to a water park. I bet there will be off season deals for locals but will keep locals priced out during peak season to allow tourists a better experience.

However, I am also convinced Universal will release new AP options that will allow locals the option of gaining access to all 3 parks for a reasonable price when divided out over multiple visits throughout the year. It just isn't clear how many visits it will take for the pass to pay off for the average family.

The new resort strategy is simple. The longer you stay, the less you pay per day. Where have we heard this before? Disney has been doing this for years and is a tried and true strategy. Universal is trying to capitalize on tourists by getting them to stay longer on their property. They are also looking to capitalize on the locals and get them to visit ALL their parks, not just one park for one day. They want repeat visits from everyone and are pricing accordingly.

I really don't see Volcano Bay hitting the $100 a pop price point. If so, they REALLY need to sell the hell out of the boutique experience. Hell, it needs to be borderline all-inclusive like Discovery Cove.

A premier AP already costs $539.99, I honestly can't see how much more they can push that price up to add a third gate on to the offerings. Bear in mind that this is exactly what they are pitching VB as - a third theme park, not a water park. I don't think they will follow Disney's 'waterpark add-on' model at all.
I predict it will be included with the top AP, which will most likely get a $30 or so inflation increase before June 2017.

Which would make the TOP AP the absolute BEST value for a repeat visitor. My Pass Expired. Had not renewed simply due to Volcano Bay. Now that we know there are no one day tickets, we are waiting to see if it is added on. If not added on , not sure we're ever going to go unless they do single day tickets. Will be interesting to see.

I stand corrected, looks like the 3-Park Unlimited is gone now. But I think someone in this thread said a while back that they bought an equivalent ticket in the UK for next year, so I imagine there's a replacement coming.

Re-posting to clarify where the $105 one-day ticket price came from. Not publicly official, but official nonetheless.

(And yes, that's ridiculously high. Have to offer some sort of AP iggy, else no American is going to go to this park and brag about it on social media.)

i would say most people (maybe 90%) who go to Volcano bay will be either AP holders or multi day ticket/onsite visitors

From what I'm seeing, it's looking like they really are trying to leverage this park to make people stay on Universal property longer and spend less money at WDW.

Pretty much an extension of what Uni has been doing for years ever since Comcast took over.
