They use project numbers as well, but they are long and more reason is given to the numbers. How does Disney classify projects? I have never known or thought to care.

I don't know specifics but here's a general example. A project in Epcot would start with 22. The first 2 represents its location in WDW - the second theme park complex built by them. The second 2 stands for the second park built at the complex - Epcot.
EDIT: or is this what SeaWorld does? Ugh I can't remember.
Then it was SW. My bad.The NOC for the sorin expansion shows it as Project 87

It depends what park Disney is working on because some parks are in different counties than others, causing different laws to come in effect (I believe). Mostly Disney just works within RCID so they don't need to release any internal information.Yep, not many have a project number. Wish they would put the permits online like other counties do.
Avengers would be perfect for 2019 with Infinity War Part 2 coming out.The last big animated movie Universal turned into a ride was Despicable Me. The Orlando ride opened two years after the first movie and one year before the second movie. It did have the advantage of being an overlay of an existing ride.
SLOP might take longer to build, but everything else looks similar to Despicable Me. Well, minus the minions. Having it ready in 2018 to make a lot of sense.
With Fast and Furious delayed one year Universal now has a major ride opening in 2018. Nintendo will open in 2020. This still leaves Universal Orlando without a major attraction opening in 2019 that we know of.
Secret life of pets might be held back to be the 2019 attraction. It could then be part of a modestly larger overlay of Toon Lagoon retail/food area, though the additional area might not be SLOP themed. There could still be a project that pops up, possibly going in to replace Shrek or T2 that would end up being the 2019 project and allowing SLOP to open in 2018 after all.
The Kings Features Syndicate license expires in 2018. Does anyone know when in 2018?
I have seen the SEC filing before. It only says 2018. It also stipulates that there must be a Bluto bilge rat barges in order to maintain the license. For sure? Is this license available online like the Marvel one?
King Features
Universal City Studios LLC, a subsidiary of USC, has a license agreement with King Features Syndicate, a division of The Hearst Corporation, pursuant to which we obtain the right to use certain characters, such as Popeye®, Bluto™ and Olive Oyl™. We have a license to use the King Features elements for our theme park attractions, advertising, publicity and marketing, subject to reasonable approval rights of King Features, until 2019, with options to renew in ten-year successive increments so long as we continue to operate a Popeye® themed attraction. The license is assignable and Universal City Studios LLC has theme park exclusivity within the United States and Canada with respect to the use of the characters and a non-exclusive right to manufacture and sell related merchandise. King Features receives an annual fee and a guaranteed annual royalty fee for all merchandise themed with King Features characters.
From the wording it sounds like they have the license till the beginning of 2019 but I'm not sure. Anyone with legal experience can clarify this? Here's a little blurb from the 2011 10-K SEC Filing:

I am hoping they drop all the other comic strip characters other than Betty and Popeye along the retail food area and give it a Simpsons style overlay. Universal owns plenty of its own animated characters they could retheme and merchandise the area with. And it says they have the option to renew with 10 year increments. Hopefully they don't renew for another 10 years!
