I'm at a bit of a crossroads. I can't see myself riding anything that high up but I want to go up and see the view but I don't want to do the walk of shame back down.

The stairway is going to be terrifying. About 150ft up with only a handrail?

maybe it will be a "cage" of some sort? I admit that I love roller coasters and water slides, but do have a really bad fear of heights. Standing above the volcano on a rope bridge in the open air would probably be more thrilling than the actual ride for me.

With Universal going out and getting composers to score their attractions...will this park have its own score/soundtrack or will it be like most other water parks playing top 40 hits?

I assume it'll be a mix of polynesian music both created especially for and curated for the park.

I would guess this as well. Aquatica does this for most of the park, and Disney's water parks also have it, but I don't think they use it that often.

I really hope they don't play a bunch of hits. For me that kills the immersion in most parks I'm in, and for one as highly theme'd as this that'd be sad to see. Probably my least favorite part of SeaWorld is that they play so much of it. If they really want it to be their Third Gate, I doubt they would though.

If they want more high energy music, take a look at Animal Kingdom which has music authentic to the area it's based in and it helps keep the theme going without sacrificing anything. They could do something more Polynesian theme'd.

Yeah, most parks besides Disney and Universal do. I think the reason I kind of point out SeaWorld is they have a fairly nice looking park with tons of their own original music as well, so it's just disappointing that they taint it with a bunch of top 40 fair.

I was just at SWO and only a couple areas played top 40 hits. It was mostly twinkling and sweeping orchestral music or pan flute music in others.

SeaWorld seems to play their show music a lot throughout the park. I don't really pay too much attention to this stuff but the only area where I notice top 40 is in The Waterfront, which is one of the areas that really should have its own soundtrack.

The music immersion is important, even at the hotel resort pools. At Portofino they play mostly rock music at the Sand Beach pool. But at the Formal Pool they play Italian oriented music. Therefore we spend the majority of our pool time at the Formal Pool since it's more immersive of the resort theme.

My fear is Universal will try to go with something like this just because its by a polynesian artist...

The bridge across the water has some very Future World-ish New Age music if I recall correctly. I really liked that.

Let's hope not. Though, I'd argue this is still better than playing Top 40 personally. Still not good at all though.

I don't ever seek out immersive music. In fact, I rarely notice the music if it fits in theme. When it's top 40, the music begins to stick out like a sore thumb.

Disney Springs does this the worst. The older areas have very nice instrumental Disney tunes which fade into the background. The newer parts play loud, upbeat rock music that sticks out.

I believe this straight slide run out for the vertical drop slide is the piece that is shown to be underwater in the latest promo video. I am really curious to see how this plays out. Currently the water line does not look like it would get above the slide based on the surrounding walls. The white cover appears to be where the slide will be clear and go underwater. Will be interesting to see how/if a pool gets built around it. The wave pool to the right already looks pretty deep at that point.

I do find it a little odd that Universal is using the 'slide underwater' gimmick. I don't think it has really played out well in its other iterations (Aquatica / Atlantis). But maybe this will somehow be different.
