I believe this straight slide run out for the vertical drop slide is the piece that is shown to be underwater in the latest promo video. I am really curious to see how this plays out. Currently the water line does not look like it would get above the slide based on the surrounding walls. The white cover appears to be where the slide will be clear and go underwater. Will be interesting to see how/if a pool gets built around it. The wave pool to the right already looks pretty deep at that point.

I do find it a little odd that Universal is using the 'slide underwater' gimmick. I don't think it has really played out well in its other iterations (Aquatica / Atlantis). But maybe this will somehow be different.

Yeah I noticed that too it seems like the water slide is too high off the wave pool floor? I'm also confused if we will be able to swim over this slide into the neighboring body of water next to the wave pool?

look right above the "JGL lift". it appears to be a retaining wall of sorts being built around the slide. Probably how the under water bit will be done.

A good point raised. Presuming you mean the wave pool is on the left of the photo but yeah I agree it is hard to determine how deep the water will be over it based on how low the current retaining wall is on the left and how low the rock work is. I will presume at this point it wont be deep enough to swim over until we see more construction development especially if you look at my screen shot below from the aerial shot in the promo video. Considering there is a connecting pool to the wave pool over the slide I don't think they are going to want large amounts of waves passing over the slide into that pool so I will again assume the slide is used more as a wall rather than a feature to swim over just with a small amount of water above. Don't get me wrong though I hoped you could swim over it as that would be pretty cool to view from above in the pool.

The retaining wall you refer too is for the exit area of the slide which is clear on the over head shot of the wave pool at 10 seconds into the official latest video seen here:

Just curious, where are the Ohno and Ohyah drop slides? I don't see them on the map or in the construction.

Looks like they are exiting on the other side of the wave pool.

  • Ohyah and Ohno Drop Slides: Two twisting, adrenaline-pumping slides that launch you four- or six-feet above the water at the end.

Actually, these slides haven't been erected yet and will sit at the very bottom left hand corner of your aerial photo. The slides exiting the structure are the second and third sky box slides that begin at the very top of the volcano.

Just for reference, they still have 2 body slides (the ones your reference), 2 family raft rides (flying saucer & tornado), and the play fortress to install.

After the slides are constructed the thematic development should be a total blast to watch.

Im so lost then, lol. Here I thought those were them. So those are really these below then.

  • Kala and Ta Nui Serpentine Body Slides: Two intertwining slides where you’ll fall freely along 124 twisting feet.

It has to be cheap. You know these things are going to walk out the gate. I can't imagine them standing there at the gate making sure people return them.

Of course, if the rumored $100 gate price is close to being accurate, they can afford to let people take them home.

Since it is supposed to be a virtual queue, will everyone have to wear this all day including the kids? I'm guessing it'll be like a magic band. However, I'd like it better if only one person had to wear it and you could have a party of 4 on the one band.

Even though my family and I usually don't do water parks when we go to Orlando, we may change that. This place looks like it's going to be AWESOME!!!

For some reason though, every time I see the latest progress on the volcano, I keep thinking of Mount Prometheus at Tokyo DisneySea.

I think everyone will have to that is above the minimum height for the slides. Letting people have multiple party members on one band would allow for abuses of the queueing. If you have people that aren't going to slide, just stack them all on one band for someone who is, and they can just keep getting in multiple lines at the same time under different passes. Not to mention, I'm sure the tech on these things won't be complex enough to handle multiple codes.

It would also mean groups need to stick together. Not everyone wants to do the same things.

You are supposed to activated a blowhole of a whale in a kids playing area with it. I'm almost sure kids will have their band. Ever seen a 3 year old manage an iPad, they are very handy with tech.

It's an amazing time to be alive. Instead of wasting frustrating hours teaching my mum how to work an iPad, my 5 year old niece has all the patience in the world.
