We know Glidepath is doing the moving belt, correct.

We also know Holovis has been contracted for audio/visual work. They specialize in screens, projection mapping, and even interactive media, but we still don’t know for sure who is behind the interactive elements for this for sure.

I contend Holovis is also behind the interactive elements. I have seen a product reel they posted to their YT channel and one clip shows people picking up laser-tag like guns for a walking dead like experience. They also have a gesture tracking system called Holotrac. Here is a showreel of what they have done thus far.

It is certainly possible (and maybe likely after seeing that). But Universal has hired them for screen elements alone before, so we cannot be certain.

A bit of a shame we’re losing another classic sign/entrance arch shape that Universal used to do for a lot of it’s attractions, especially in Production Central. E.T. is the only one that remains I believe.

The new archway into the attraction doesn’t seem particularly impressive or representative of anything in the movie either, so I don’t know why they didn’t just repaint it with a new sign on top. It seems inconsequential but the abundance of these made the Studio theme feel much more cohesive.

Maybe they are building a new archway over it to give the entrance more depth than the existing entrance.

I wonder if they plan on moving stroller parking somewhere else? Those strollers lined up on both sides of PC make a great visual entrance to the park!

More info (source: People):
Universal Orlando Resort announced a new land and family attraction coming to Universal Studios Florida next summer.

The attraction, Illumination's Villain-Con Minion Blast, is an interactive, blaster game experience inspired by the popular movie franchise that will combine "innovative screen technology, state-of-the-art gaming interactivity and elaborate physical sets to create a one-of-a-kind, game-based adventure where guests encounter immersive environments, nefarious villains and tons of mischievous Minions," according to a release from Universal.

Its storyline pulls from the plot of the most recent minion movie, Minions: The Rise of Gru and takes participants to Villain-Con — the biggest criminal convention on the planet — to take part in a competition to see if they have what it takes to become the newest member of The Vicious 6, a notorious group of supervillains from the movie.

Guests who are up for the challenge will grab an interactive blaster and step onto a "motion-based pathway" — essentially a moving walkway like the ones park-goers use to board Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure in the Wizarding World or the Haunted Mansion ride at Disney's Magic Kingdom). They'll wind through various scenes and earn points by blasting different items and causing as much chaos and destruction as possible.

The forthcoming attraction will be part of a new Minion Land that will also include the existing Despicable Me Minion Mayhem attraction, and a new Minion Café. All will be unveiled in summer 2023.

That's great this ride has been confirmed by Universal. Now if only we could get some concept art of the interior. But then Universal is not Disney when it comes to ride announcements.

Most interesting news is that it’s apparently a new land, wonder how far they will go with it’s theming and re-zoning of attractions currently in Production Central.

I don’t hate the name. Glad they actually announced this. Looks like People is confirming that Monster’s Cafe will be turned into Minions. (Not that we didn’t guess/know that.)

This is my thought. Wonder if they may add any additional theming on the street between Villain Con and the Minions Cafe.

Also - are we to assume the soundstage will basically look the same? Or is there a chance that they actually paint/add a lot more theming to the exterior of the building?

I’m not reading the “new land” aspect too much, they’re using it as short hand.

Maybe I’m just not paying attention but do press releases usually get this “inside baseball”? Talking about screen technology, gaming interactivity, and “elaborate physical sets”—seems tailor made to people on fan forums

Those aren’t necessarily phrases I’d expect to be used to hype up the general public about a new ride.

I thought the same thing, lol. Uni seems to be putting more info into their press releases lately.

When they announced the Weeknd house for HHN, the press releases had a LOT of info.

Maybe, but I don't know that "innovative screen technology" is high up on the list of things that gets people on fan forums hyped up.

"Elaborate physical sets" does feel calculated to appeal to/appease a certain type of fan, such as myself, but we'll just see how accurate that ends up being.
