I also rode the mummy 11 times along with all the other rides that had no wait yesterday while everyone sat around the lake. At around 7:30 got in line and rode transformers with time to ride the mummy once more. I have to say I liked transformers a lot more this time then the last.

When did they paint all of that extended queue metalwork brown? Why did they paint it brown? Why did they paint it brown after assembled in the park on fresh concrete?

What??? That is as warm chocolaty brown as I have ever seen brown. What kind of camera do you have?

Am I the only person here seeing absolute Willy Wonka brown in that photo?

If not, then I need a methadone clinic fast... :look:

I saw it in person today, it's still grey. The brown is just an artifact of the terrible white balance and auto-exposure on someone's cellphone camera ;-)

What does everyone think the best time to ride it will be? Are you thinking first thing when the park opens or right before the park closes?

I'm personally a park close kind of person. Usually the wait drops dramatically within the hour of closing. If it however still has an hour at closing, I'd jump in the line. Once you're in the line they have to let you ride. They can however close the line early.

I wasn't able to ride it the day of grand opening, and left due to sheer heat exhaustion. Are they selling Energon drink or canned drink anywhere yet?

Also, a question for toy collectors out there, what version of Optimus Prime do they sell in the Transformers store in the large scale $30 version? They have a smaller version and a larger version, was just curious.

It's $39.99 it's the same version of the bigger Mech Tech Optimus Prime from the Dark of the Moon line. Nothing new except for the box. Same thing goes for Megatron. The only new and exclusive one is Evac.

Awesome, my wife asked me what I wanted for my bday, I said I wanted that $40 OP figure and EVAC! HAHA! I have the Toys R Us G1 reissue in mint condition of OP unopened, will look nice side by side. Thanks Shadow!

so...the wait never made it past 100 today (at least from what I saw). In fact, it was pretty manageable, especially for a Saturday in June...when schools are out...two days after it opens.

It may be too early to tell, but I'm sticking with my original statement that the crowd predictions for Universal this summer have been overhyped.

The smaller Optimus prime is also from the Dark of the Moon line as well as the Bumblebee figure.
