I don't know Martin (the person I quoted) personally, but I do know his online presence well enough to know that when he says something, I pay attention because he's usually right. He's a well-connected source of solid info. With that said, I don't believe we'll see a Star Trek land come to replace KidZone as someone mentioned they'd like to see. If it were a "done deal," I would think we'd be hearing more about it and Martin would have said something a little differently (if anything at all). I'm curious where ST would go, if it were to come to the parks. Springfield/MIB plot? Toon Lagoon? Lost Continent? Would it be a ride or a land? There are so many potential opportunities that could be done with this IP!

I think most expansions and replacements from here on out are going to be more than just a ride, unless they're being integrated into the area already around them. I think Transformers is the last random attraction in a random spot attraction.

Htf shot down Star Trek for the MIB plot months ago. Of course, that was months ago, so things could have changed.

I believe you are correct ^^^, but was Star Trek as a whole shot down or just for that plot?

Things change quickly, as we've seen happen in the past few months. Hate was also saying that Kong was coming to Disaster, that Rockit was getting all trains refurbished, that the JP expansion was happening for 2014/2015, and that the Lorax ride was coming to Seuss Island. None of those came to fruition (except for 2 trains on Rockit). Does that mean he lied? No, it means the plans changed. The same could happen for Star Trek...though it sounds like it's a few years out if that's the case. Now we get to wait and see!

^ indeed.

I've heard three scenarios for the IP (that I won't say so please don't ask!)

And that's just me. I'm sure there's more. And the option of nothing happening as well.

No worries, Martin. Protect yourself and your sources...you, like Hate, Spirit, Disneyhead, and the other well-informed "insiders" will reveal what you can, when you can. We appreciate all that you guys do.

Agreed. Would rather have the insiders safe than have them in trouble.
Great thing these guys do. I know if it were me Id never say anything but kudos to these people for the risk-taking they do at times.

Plus, if an insider just spoiled all the beans, then there'd be no longer any fun in speculating :)

I tend to agree with you. I feel like thats why there was the talk of New York being completely bulldozed to make way for something new. We saw them unify Springfield as well as the overall direction it seems that they are going towards are "lands" rather just solely attractions. (i.e DA, Kong)

New York and Hollywood are such strong staples I see them staying, but getting upgrades that tie them together.

Thought just struck me, would a star trek land not be better suited in IOA? Also, I think that perhaps the launched flying coaster would make a great star trek ride.

Yeah I can't say this is something I'm excited for. Furthest thing from a Star Trek fan. I'd rather they just focus on the possible Iron Man ride. If it is even something they are considering. Would like to see IOA get more attention since other than Hogsmeade and Kong in the future, the Studios has been getting all the new stuff

i'd say thats cause the studious is much older and much more outdated in comparison to islands just my thought

I am in!!! They could make a spectacular Star Trek show with few changes to the interior. But on the outside it wouldn't fit in too well in Hollywood.

New York and Hollywood need to be gutted.

My personal opinion is that I disagree with that. Those are probably our two favorite areas, besides Central Park, to sit and enjoy the ambiance. Great theming. The only areas that I would like to see rethemed are Kidzone, which is going to happen according to OU insiders, and Production Central, that really doesn't fit or look good anymore, even though it was the original park theme. My opinion, though, is based on being a tourist that visits once or twice a year. Locals probably have a much different view of park aspects and attractions since they're there so often.

I would rather them make a new indoor family coaster using the T2 building (which is huge)...keep the pre-show aspect..and of course the sci-fi store

Now I'm not really a Star Trek fan (don't hate it, just don't follow it) and IMO this is a much better idea. Kidszone has a lot of land so depending on what is planned I'm not sure how much space Star Trek could really take up. In addition the Studios has to have something for children between the ages of 3-6ish. Not so sure of demolishing a kids area to bring in an adult based IP land is a great idea either. Now there is always a chance that not all of Kidszone goes but hey who the heck knows.
