New Star Tours II picture, plus details on when the ride takes place: http://www.starwars.com/fans/events/star_tours_continues/index.html

Also, more information from @Disneyland:
There are multiple destinations on the Star Tours trip, including Coruscant

That's not even the half of it... but I can't go into detail with what I know. I have some connections via Lucasfilm, though none through Disney, but I can say that you'll have good reason to ride Star Tours 2.0 multiple times. ;)

As in, the multiple beginnings, middles, and ends?

I'm hoping that they decide to do that. Can you even begin to imagine the kind of lines Star Tours would generate if there were multiple beginnings, middles and ends?

Although I have to admit that a straight-forward storyline like the original would be nice, as well, but it wouldn't have the same kind of draw if there were multiple destinations randomly selected.

Man, I'm torn. XD

El Erico, just think. If they do mix it up, it won't be your pilot's first flight every time you ride it :-)

D23 posted new details on the multiple journeys you can experience the updated attraction...
http://d23.disney.go.com/articles/061410_NF_BN_DisneylandHorizons.html
Scroll to the Star Tours section to view.

It is also said to involve some sort of audience participation... who knows!

The most interesting part of the D23 info:

There will be several points during each journey where the audience will be able to change where the story is going.

So that indicates it won't be random...... If this is the case, how is this going to go down? Will there be some form of audience response system, like a keypad? Or will it just "seem" as though the audience has some persuasion?

I really can't wait to see this.

Its possible they will use a motion capture system so for example they come to a fork in the road and the driver will as which way do we go left or right, lean that way. And whoever leans the most the ride will take that direction.

Sounds great, Star Tours 2 is beginning to sound even better. It is already exceeding my expectations.

The explanation of the DCA name change was so stupid. No crap it isn't called Disney's land because it doesn't flow right :bang:. That was the biggest baloni I have ever heard .

I just read that myself. What is Disney getting onto here. First they change the carousel name to give it a "deep" backstory now they need to explain why they are dropping an apostrophe s. This is all so sad it's funny.

Star Tours II to Open on May 17th, 2011. From StitchKingdom:

On the official web site, Walt Disney World has announced a scheduled re-opening date for Star Tours of May 17, 2011, which reflects a minor change in dates we originally announced back in March. The attraction is still expected to close on September 8.

At the Disneyland Resort, Star Tours, which closes on July 27 for its refurb, is expected to re-open exactly one week prior, on May 10, 2011.

My guess is that the only thing that won't change between the rides is the beginning and the end, so chances are, it'll still be there. ;)

Firstly, what is the mighty microscope? Sorry if it is a stupid question.

And secondly, I hope WDW doesn't cut any corners with this. I mean, if Disneyland has a month more than us to refurb theirs, will we have enough time to refurb ours?

Found it! It's after you drop down into the loading bay, right? Right behind the booth with the very scared guy inside?
