I wouldnt rank gringots that high but in terms of theming and technology it is truly unparalleled. I feel FJ deserves that top spot for mix of practically every piece of tech they could use bar 3d glasses.

I'm not a fan of the dome screens in FJ. They're to me the least seamless use of screens in any Universal attraction. I also think the Kuka movements could be better, it seems to me they tilt you back often just because they can. I get the impression they were relying on the Kuka arm to make it a thrill ride. I would prefer to see them used to move you through the physical sets in a more realistic way.

Kong to me like Gringotts, Spider-Man and Transformers is all very smooth and seamless. None of the technology is used just because, it's there for a reason.

Forgot to ask, does anyone on the taller side have any feedback on the seating? I am on the taller side (just a shade over six feet), and after seeing just how cramped the legroom is on those benches I'm honestly worried I wont't fit!

I don't see an issue with that. I didn't pay attention to how much leg room there was but its just an open bench that everyone's sitting on. I would think you could turn your legs to the side if they're too long.

I'm 6ft 3ish and as long as I sat upright I was okay, a little tight though.

Yeah, a tall stork friend of mine said the knees were an issue and one should sit down slowly and not just slam your butt into the seat.

I need a few dozen more rides to say for sure, but taking the whole attraction (including queue) into account, I'd place it just behind Spidey, FJ, and Gringotts, and a little ahead of Mummy & MIB.

I have rode that ride so many times that the dome experience is constantly varied. Some time the video is a bit fuzzy and on the blurry nauseating side. But one or two times I rode it i have applauded at how crisp and sharp the quality is. And the most amazing thing about the dome screens is they are constantly moving and multiple vehicles are experiencing that video simultaneously. I think its one of the most amazingly pulled off rides. Even if the scenery takes you all over the place. It is the most amazing HP ride.

Do you mean the large 360 screens are supposed to have the tunnel that tracks with the vehicle until you are out of the room? The video must have had this when installed but it didn't look right?

Thank goodness. That transition baffled me after the earlier screens. Just so everyone knows, I never asked about the projections or what they were about. Call it plausible deniability. Plus, I like surprises too.

I sat in the back of the truck and never saw the 360 screen go black on exit. At the point where the USH version goes dark, instead you see Kong run off to the front right, then the jungle background remained as we rolled into the final scene. It looked ok to me, and I was looking for a bad transition.

Hm. I was just commenting on the video posted by whatever website and they caught blackness and a bit of a "stupid" silent nothing moment. Not sure why that happened.

This has been a fun new day today and quite the surprise to me that they actually tested it when it continues to be a fragile attraction. Both the TM's and the UC teams seemed quite excited about it, if not silly.

Is this the first attraction to soft open, but still not have a grand opening date? Lol

I believe Violarum was comparing single scenes, saying AA Kong scene was the most impressive scene UC had done, and comparing it to Chamber of Secrets. That wasn't an entire attraction comparison. :)

I understand that, but I don't think the Chamber of Secrets is *that* impressive as a set piece. I think there are individual scenes in Transformers and Gringotts that are more impressive. On the whole, though, I don't think UC has matched FJ for jaw-dropping ambition.

I don't expect UC to "top" FJ or Spidey every time they open a new ride, but I think it's disheartening that they haven't matched the ambition of those rides.

At least UNI is building rides, but I think all of the parks in Orlando could use a dose of newfangled spectacle. Maybe we'll get it next year.

What irritates me is all of the negative comments coming from not only Disney but Ush fans about how lazy of a job it was to use the same fight scenes as Hollywood's version. Tf? I know me and a lot of others here would have never had a desire to travel all the way to Hollywood to see that version of kong. Yet when they found out they were getting their own Wizard World that for the most part is identical to ours here, they were happier than a sissy on a troop train!! Universal wasn't lazy then now were they? Parks share rides all the time come on...

If you think that's bad just go look at the Full Reign of Kong POV on YouTube and read those comments. They can really get to you

Alright, it's go time. I'm going to be there the majority of the day tomorrow, and will hopefully get on. :)

Which Twitter feeds should I keep an eye on tomorrow other than OU? Basically, who's sticking it out tomorrow as well.

My game plan is to hang out in IOA and make a bee line to Kong the second it opens for softs. Wish me luck!!!

Stay away from WDWMagic then. It's gotten to the point where I'm letting them just have at it while I roll my eyes. I've made my points many times so I'm just done.

There's a few that are high on pixie dust there, but for the most part the sane people have realized the realities and there's much more doom talk than "WDW IS GREAT". Hell, it seems I can't go into a thread there these days without running into a wall of negativity. Justly so, but it's certainly not as you make it out to be.

It's hard fighting the urge to not watch a POV video. Just 2 more months

To anyone's that rode already, how is the re-rideability? Is this a ride that you can see yourself doing multiple times in a week or is it just a one and done?

I'm speaking from the perspective of the Spirited thread, my Kong thread, and an Avatar thread of all things being hijacked by a few very vocal posters.
