I agree, Nintendo could have done some "people familiar with the situation" drops in WSJ to report around a $300 price. Having Mario not for launch was a momentum killer for me. 1, 2, Switch screams 'pack in' game not a $50 purchase.

1-2 Switch looks interesting, but indeed, not for $50, as it is really just a glorified demo that should come free with the system. The concept is fascinating though, kind of a neat spin on VR, though I am not sure how much further they can go with this.

I'd have to assume that it'd be stupid if they didn't market the Switch in a 30-45 second commercial at the Super Bowl; as a means to generate hype for the new console and to show it for a different audience than what they tried to do before with the original announcement.

The absolute latest it'll last is holiday 2018 in my eyes. It seems they're moving forward full speed with Switch. Just look at the first party games this year alone.

I still wonder when we might hear more tech specs. At this price it might be a tad more powerful than expected. It definitely seems like an amazing device, incredibly thin, I'd love to know how they keep it cool.

It has some kind of vent. Power shouldn't be too surprising since we've known it's fully capable of Unreal Engine 4 since the day the first trailer came out.

Nintendo Answers (And Avoids) Our Switch Questions
Not sure how I feel about games not saving to the actual cartridges. I guess it'll be better when I use an SD card with it which I will but still.

Glad they are supporting the latest SD cards, should be much faster than having to use an external harddrive.
I find it makes more sense to save to the system rather than to the cartridge, since (I assume) updates will also be installed to the system memory. Plus, if it is simialr to the WiiU the save file depends on the user account (at least for most games), which means it makes more sens for the save files to be on the system.

Well we finally have a comparison between a multi platform game on PS4 and Switch.

Dragon Quest Heroes II:

From looking around it seems like the version coming to Switch which is an exclusive combo pack that includes the first game as well might be a port of the PSVita version rather than the PS4 version. Dragon Quest XI will surely be based more on the PS4 version so we'll see how those comparisons go. Plus, I'm sure games like Zelda, Mario Odyssey, and Xenoblade 2 already look better than this even though I don't think this is that bad for a hybrid device you can take on the go.

I was reading something this morning concerning the console wars, the headline said the Switch had garbage graphics, and in the article there was something equating hardcore gamers with high graphics, which I think is just plain ridiculous.

Yeah. I would post on a gaming specific forum if it weren't for that kind of behavior. The most I do is a Nintendo focused blog.

I read the same article, I think it was on Gizmodo. It was saying that the general public just does not care about graphic stats.

Yes, the title was kind of clickbait. I found the article itself was a little odd though, one of those things written just because.
