All of those rides are low capacity knotts desperately need something with a high capacity. Personally I think a high capacity indoor heavily themed family thrill coaster would a good fit for the park. Don’t really know what manufacturers would be best for that. They just desperately need a people eater.

I’d say Intamin with an indoor MDC like Uncharted would be a great choice. Make it a Ghost Town expansion.

I'm still waiting for a Vekoma or Mack Mad House to show up in Ghost Town themed to the old Haunted Shack. It's family friendly, and doesn't take up much space. It could even take over the old Mystery Lodge space.

And it's really amazing to me that there aren't any Mad Houses on the West Coast (or even in the United States, for that matter), yet they're all over in Europe.

I’ve always had an armchair idea where they could make a Verbolten-style coaster to replace Pony Express. Have the ride go over the rapids and launch into a backstage show building and then back out over the rapids and the graveyard. They would have to move the backstage entrance further back to make it work but I think it would be doable for Knotts. Maybe Gerstlauer could work on it. Suck a coaster would be perfect for Knotts and fairly high capacity!

Another armchair idea: Put the stage back where it was in Ghost Town square! The Hanging isn’t there anymore during KSF so whatever show they have there during KSF and other events should be adequate for the crowds. In the place of where the stage is at now, bring back the haunted shack where it originally was but in the form of the Vekoma Madhouse. There is more than enough space to pull it off there and it would be the perfect theme for it!

It was but sadly it got replaced for “LEGO Space Mountain“. I hope they put it elsewhere but I’m not giving my hopes up.

So in a little bit of MonteZooma news, it sounds like we know who's finishing the project...somehow, it's still KumbaK. Well, if the rumors are true, KumbaK obviously didn't have much of an option here due to breaking contract. To avoid getting sued, they had to either finish the project...or pay Zamperla to finish it as they threw in a bid to do so.

What a mess. I guess that’s the outcome when you go with the lowest/inexperienced bidder. I wonder if in the end the park ended up spending more money with all the delays instead of going with a more reputable company from the start. That’s not even considering all the likely issues once the coaster starts testing/opens.

I wonder if Cedar Flags will learn their lesson from this and Top Thrill 2.

I was just at Cedar Point about a week ago for 1.5 days, and I do have to say, once they got over those initial problems with TT2 (which admittedly took an absurd amount of time), it's been running pretty reliably now. We only noticed it go down once the whole time, and even then it was up again quickly. Based on discord conversations of people in the area, it's had a lot better up time.

Even just watching the back spike, it's amazing how consistent it is... those trains go up to the same height nearly every single time.

I put this in the Six Flags MM thread as well and posting it here just in case you dont go into that thread. It looks like for a limited time if you buy certain passes you can go to both MM and Knotts next year on a Platinum pass instead of having to buy an all park pass.

Six Flags 2026 season pass: Buy pass for any park, get 50 other parks free

Six Flags 2026 season pass sales launch July 30, and when guests buy a pass to any Six Flags park, they'll get all other parks free.

Sol Spin had another malfunction.
However, was only stopped for about 5 minutes according to article.
"Dozens of riders were suspended mid-air when a popular thrill ride malfunctioned at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park Saturday afternoon."

Was at Knott's yesterday starting at park opening. Xcelerator didn't open with the park. They were still testing the train around 10:45 empty and then with one employee in the front row. They opened up the entrance a little after 11 am. People were milling around the ride entrance b/c the park employees didn't want a queue.

I got in the front car queue and decided to wait for the front row on the second train cycle.

The coaster took off and 20-30 seconds later the coaster came back into the station backwards. The train did not make it over the top. The employees made everyone get off and I think people who asked got some kind of one-time front of the line ticket. The people next to me in the queue said they wished they had been on that train b/c this almost never happens with the public on the train.

They announced the ride would be closed for an unspecified time and said people could remain in line if they wanted. A couple hours later I saw the younger guy next to me in the line and he said the ride didn't re-open for another hour.

Meditating on Return to the Fair. Does anyone else not like this ride that much? I’m so happy that Beary Tales is in the park, but the choice to make it a 3D shooter shot it in the foot. Most of the ride you’re looking at screens for things to shoot, which just isn’t memorable. By far the most fun part of the ride is the fortune telling camp and the tunnel sequence, because that’s when you’re actually looking around.

Beyond the actual ride experience, the fact that it’s a shooter meant that the vehicles are absolutely massive, only seat four, and load very very slow. This ride breaks down more than anything else in the park, and even at maximum efficiency the loading sucks.

It’s absolutely amazing having the Beary Tales characters so heavily featured all over the park, and the merch and store for this ride are in my opinion the best I’ve ever seen for any theme park, ever. But the way they actually brought Beary Tales back is like… a 6 or 7 out of 10. It should’ve just been an all practical dark ride with 2D screens used for backgrounds or smaller effects.

I hear you. As a general rule, I haven't been super enamored with any of the Triotech shooters.

That said, relative to other Triotech shooters, I do think this is the best one. Mainly because the animation is just so whimsical, and there's a lot of detail in there if you look.

One thing that I think could help it, after visiting Legoland SD's Ninjago, is they should load double the vehicles... four rows instead of two. And there's space for it. Why they didn't is a bit of a mystery to me.
