Jurassic World VelociCoaster Construction Thread (Opening June 10)

I think it's going to surprise people how themed it will be

I've been imagining since the name Velocicoaster was thrown out there, that somewhere there's a warehouse with a whole bunch of animatronic raptors in it. Hoping we get that and maybe a couple of other surprises.

Maybe not so much as a warehouse, but an ode to the best part of Jurassic World- when they let the raptors loose.
I'm thinking something like this will be scene 1. Raptors springing loose to our right as we hit the first launch.

...side note. I have figured out the identity of @bioreconstruct. I saw him at the reopening and he posted a picture that I saw him take when I was close by. It was the picture of the drummers that gave it away. Now I'll be on the lookout.

In complete agreement with the atmosphere aspect. I'm hoping that we get a healthy dose of foliage back as they wrap up construction. Would be cool if they had some fake plants that shook as if the raptors were running through it. Also the sounds of Jurassic Park in the area mixed with some raptor screams might be nice. I'm looking everyday for updates from the usual sources and they're coming in faster now. Hopefully we'll see a ton of progress this week.

I like the less is more idea for the queue. Trees move, raptor sounds, just a hint of a tail.

Universal could go down a psychological nightmare for the queue but it depends what the story is.

Obviously the dinosaurs have escaped because it's Jurassic Park and that's what their dinos do but do they escape before or after the ride starts?

I'm in the camp that they've already escaped and we are recruited to help wrangle them back in to the holding pens. The guard tower at the end will add to that feeling.

Judging by the aesthetic of the Raptor Encounter, we can go ahead and assume that these attractions are going to heavily lean on JW instead of JP.

If it’s JW, how does that work with the rest of the land being JP?

I really don't think the average guest is going to scrutinize it that carefully. And I would expect that "Jurassic World" is not going to be part of the name of the attraction.

So at worst, I think some guests may notice a stylistic/aesthetic departure in the areas immediately around it, but not in a way that would fundamentally break anybody's feeling of immersion.

It is, but the visual style will be inspired by both JP and JW. I’m sure we’ll see the raptor stables and wall mounted muzzles from JW for example. While the game warden tower reminds me of JP.

I really think people are overthinking the color schemes and designs. Walt Disney World can have contrasting styles from the 70s and 2020s, I don't see why a Jurassic Park land couldn't have contrasting styles from 1990 and 2017.
