The FNAF announcement is making rounds on Twitter outside of the standard haunt/horror spheres of influence

Fun fact: for the game Dead by Daylight, the most requested franchise of all time (and its not even close) was FNAF, which is being added in a few weeks

Stranger Things didn't have a decade plus to cultivate a fanbase. The reaction to an announcement for an announcement is unparalleled - this is going to be big.

I cannot believe that Freddy's is going into dead by daylight. that's gonna be crazy. and I still hope that dead by daylight comes to horror nights eventually. thayswild. I'm expecting a lot of Freddy's shirts and plush bears at the park lol.

I hate Terrifier passionately but I hope the house manages to be a banger lol

I do hope all houses are fun. I have never wished for a house to be mediocre. because then it feels like a waste of space and money. mediocre house it's just like a waste of a house space
but even if Terri turns out to be the greatest house of all time, Im never going near this juggalo clown lol. :lmao:

Think how Disney handles after hours.

Pardon my ignorance but haven't done a Disney after hours event in years so no idea what the current protocol looks like, elaborate? But I am hopeful S&S stays somewhat familiar? Idk not even like to be ahead of crowds or anything but for me it is a tradition truly to be able to get a drink at Finns then have the scare zones come alive, idk something magical to me about that and would truly miss it if we somehow couldn't do that. Also the bartenders at Finns wouldn't they lose out on a decent amount of money if S&S didn't allow guests to get drinks and stuff then? I am team keep express with FFP 'cause it helps me a lot for the week I go to HHN but could live with a multi-night ticket with no express and get express for a decent chunk of nights I'm there, but the idea of S&S going away or drastically changing now THAT scares me.

Basically. Scream Early (if those still exist) would get you into the park at a certain time. You would get a wrist band by scanning your HHN ticket at certain points (or maybe at the front gate). Then you could just wander around while they kick out anyone without a wristband.

I'm guessing they would likely use choke points, or the house portals to really clear out the day guests. Since most people with HHN bands would be queuing up at some point.

I'm also guessing that the price for a week's worth of single night express would be less than the cost of getting an FFP with express attached.

So in theory we could still get a drink at Finns and just vibe and watch the scare zones come to life? I mean sounds like a very similar process to the traditional S&S just moved the scanning ticket part up and I guess the gates to a wider area.

Yes we have priced it out and it does save us money to buy FFP w/ Express but not by a ton so I could handle the daily express if I could get a multi-night ticket deal.

Just enjoy being in the park and people watching and just seeing it transform, gives me life more than being first in line for a house.

Correct. And the restaurants would likely remain open but NOT serve those without a wristband starting at the Stay and Scream time.

That sounds good to me and more of a win for guests not having to be stuck in a small area for such an extended period of time, just not sure how that works for the security team doing an entire park sweep but in theory sounds like it is a better idea??? If in reality that is how it turns out and S&S is still essentially in effect sounds good.

I also like the sounds of it. And agree about not being sure how they’d handle an entire park sweep to corale the non-wristbanded out.

It works (mostly) well for Disney events since you can create CM checkpoints to lands and check again at the entrance to queues. The big issue is mix-in time gets crazy crowded, and post-event start time, main street/similar entry lands are swamped.

On the bad side, Disney doesn't really stop guests from shopping. Very eventually they trickle out. Also, there are complaints sometimes that folks will slip by CMs and enter a ride during the event. I haven't experienced it personally, but I'm sure it happens.

...Y'know, all the rumors have been Friday the 13th, but what are the chances it's Black Phone 2? Is it possible insiders heard "campground slasher" and, understandably, assumed Jason but it's instead this?

I mean, it releases during the event, we know Grabber is a huge hit with the general public from Blumzone last year, it'd be some extra good synergy alongside FNaF... Just a thought.

Short Answer, No.

Longer more detailed answer,

When it comes to figuring out what's going in the event, it can come from a variety of info, one of them being costumes. That can be a very easy way of figuring things out, especially when you have an iconically distinctive look. There is no mistaking Jason for any other character, and conversely there is no mistaking the Grabber for anyone else either.

Second, we already know from bioreconstructs aerials there's a yellow VW Beetle in the outdoor section of the house. That is very much linked to F13 and not linked to the Black Phone whatsoever.

And speaking of outdoor sections, it makes sense they'd try a literal outdoor section for a F13 house. But it would make zero sense to do that for the Black Phone 2 which is set in winter and the obvious Florida air and heat would betray the setting to a hilarious degree. (Meanwhile they're working on the AC units for one of the new tents to make sure that house actually fits the cold setting for the Vikings.)

Finally, with FNaF already having a house this year, I don't see Blumhouse having two properties as houses.

For reference, on MK party nights they will start the "mix in" process a bit earlier than posted event time. Once the event officially starts, wristbands are required for every attraction, restaurant and even retail (excluding Main Street). They'll create a human blockade at each land to prevent non-party guests in, while letting day guests out. Security then spends a good hour or so clearing out the park.

Universal currently takes an hour to clear the park, and they'll typically have the gates open by 6-6:10.

This kind of concept seems ripe for having a Sid type character, since just like Toy Story I can imagine the toys being none too pleased from that kind of abuse.

Everyone talking about general public awareness when it comes to FNaF vs. Romero films while I’m over here like, “AHHH THIS MIGHT FINALLY BE AS CLOSE AS I’LL EVER GET TO A PUPPET MASTER HOUSE AHHHH” :nervous:

I've never done a Disney after hours event - but from the sound of it, I am fully on board with the wristbands idea. While S&S has produced good memories for us, and even led to some new friendships.. I'd much rather be able to roam around rather than be cooped up in the barricade hell.

You can go get a drink.. food.. go to the bathroom.. it all sounds so glorious lol

Like others have mentioned, I'm assuming 4:30/5ish they'll open up some house queues for guests to funnel into. I understand the concern that guests could line up outside of the house portals beforehand, but in that case TMs would have to be fairly strict on not allowing that.

Never actually done Stay and Scream before, so this is interesting to consider... are you able to take advantage of that if you've got an AP?

Yes. However you paid for the ticket (Daily ticket, AP, Scream Early) If you’re in the park before close then you can wait in the S&S area or whatever they’re doing this year.

My ultimate question with the S&S changes: will all the houses now be opening at the same time? Or will some still be at 5:45?

I would imagine Universal would stand to make more money with the wristband approach discussed above? The holding pens have become so over crowded that it isn’t easy or comfortable to grab a bite to eat or even a drink for that matter when you are packed like sardines.

I remember waiting for AHS to open (2016 I think?) by Hello Kitty and there were maybe 100 - 200 people there. It’s absolutely wild how much things have changed in 10 years.

Question that I forgot to ask considering the new style of S&S that is being proposed, are we still saying main gates will close at 5 and reopen at 6 with wristband guests inside for an hour leadtime or are we proposing a continuous flow with the main gates never closing?

I would imagine this will remain the same and you just can’t queue for these till they open.
