I don't agree entirely. Yes, locals/fans love to hang out at HHN, but they're also the ones who want to do all of the houses.
Some tourists want to do all houses, but a good chunk of them are fine doing 4-5 houses (typically the IPs), a few rides, and a show.

It's not a tourist vs. local issue. HHN has severe capacity issues, and I don't know why we're circumventing the real issue of HHN's capacity constraints due to poor operational inefficiencies and a lack of capacity to meet current demand.

I think your take is more accurate than the one you quoted. Plus, a lot of tourists aren't of the hardcore horror fandom, they just want to enjoy the 'total ambiance' of HHN and do a handful of houses.

Honestly, if you run the daytime HMU show for HHN and possibly make it slightly edgier for HHN….I’d go see it. As an out-of-downer, I don’t normally have a lot of time to hit that up during the day, so in between houses I would probably go see it. I think they should have it. Or if you want to be a little more creative…just have an Orlando version of Blumhouse Behind the Screams in there. You can incorporate some of the daytime HMU aspects in there to make a slightly longer show. You can have the “normal” show but tailored for the Blumhouse theme and then have M3gan cut it short (No pun intended). Boom. There’s your second show.

I know AA is always pretty crowded, but they could have a magic show there or something. Dream Works Land should be open by then so it should alleviate some traffic. Heck, even a light freak show manned by two people would suffice. Boom. That’s your third show.

I know that there are some clearance issues with the firearms, but I think a Purge overlay for Bourne would be greatly beneficial. I mean Water World deals with firearms and there seems to be little issues with hiring a different cast for the Purge show there and that’s in California, a state with more restrictions lol. I understand this would be a little more tricky to utilize with the procedure and the “need” to use the screen (But I don’t think they need to use it or they could have a half-baked backdrop VFX’d). But if they really want to do it, I think they could. They could even reuse Hollywood’s queue line footage for the preshow.

I never thought I would see the day when HHN Hollywood has more live entertainment than HHN Orlando. The event needs more of it really badly.

And that's with USH losing 2 venues at the same time... and yet Orlando has 3 venues not being used (and a 4th if you count the Music Plaza Stage)

They’ve done these. Both of these. Neither drew enough of an audience to keep coming back.

Never really thought of it this way. Not like Universal doesn't have 4 potential theaters that are just sitting empty during HHN (+ Music Plaza Stage).

I'd have to assume the HHN team had a plan in place to alleviate that lost capacity, and I can't imagine they'd do nothing.

The last 2 weeks have been bizarre crowd-wise. TLOU was posted 55 on Saturday... it was a walk-on. Which as a side note, is a practice the parks really need to get better at. I saw several DAS users just waiting outside the entrance waiting for their time... only to realize they could have just walked in (and used standby since they force Express to go around the maze of queue hell).

Bloodmoon and Exorcist were always a 40-45 minute posted wait when I went through but I never waited more than 20 for any of my run throughs. Chucky was also overinflated very quickly on Friday (around 7PM) when it took less than ten mins.

Crowds for Sunday and today Halloween have been pretty manageable
Sunday I came with my cousin at 6 pm and we did everything. Most lines were 40 minutes or less. It was pretty chill.
Today the lines are pretty good so far. I got here at 6 pm so far everything is pretty ok.

UniversalRBLX said:
HMU can run shows every 45 minutes, starting at 7 PM you can easily schedule 8 shows a night. The theater can house ~640ish guests, which is pretty decent for a nightly capacity of 5K guests a night. Nightmare Fuel/FFL for comparison has only 4 showtimes a night with a capacity for 1.6K guests a night for a total of around 6.8K guests a night.

I don't know what they can or can't do with Bourne, but if Hollywood can run a stunt show during the day and then turn it around for a different show at night... what makes Orlando different?

AA is questionable since you can't lose that capacity during the day for a park that doesn't have much for young children.

BMG is currently utilized for Grinchmas, but if they can find another home for Grinchmas (if only IOA had an empty venue for it), it opens up the ability for HHN to utilize the space.

We'll debate this for the next few months probably, but I still think the solution is to solve capacity issues before Universal goes the Disney approach of raising prices and/or limiting how often one goes.

Part of the reason why I believe HHN has a non-haunted house capacity problem. Not everyone wants to do haunted houses all night, they want entertainment, food, drinks, etc. An 11th house would do nothing but spread the event thin when they should be focusing on other things beyond haunted houses to add to the event's offerings.

A lagoon show would have been an obvious big draw this year with music from Stranger Things, Chucky, Exorcist, maybe Last of Us.

Though even if the fountains were working, Metallica would be a big hurdle.

So Today I saw the most costumes I have ever seen here. Ever. In 17 years.
I saw people with costumes from the actual Halloween store. Like a couple of women have the official Spider-Man Halloween costumes like from the movie. Like a replica or something.
And stuff like pirates and witches, brides,
Like vampires with blood paint down their throat and everything. ( 2 guys had the legitimate mortal Kombat scorpion suit. Legitimate replica costumes) and others had astronaut costumes and super Mario etc.

And to be honest it was really really amazing this year.
Like a really big Halloween party inside a theme park it was really amazing.
I wish uni would let people wear costumes and today a lot of people actually did.
I think hhn Japan allows full costumes and California is allowing costumes this year I think. Hhn Orlando could maybe do it too.
Everyone having a pretty great time. It's Like a big Halloween parade inside universal.
Crowd seemed pretty calm and just hanging out, like everyone just wanted to have a great time.
( I only dressed like Eddie from ST lol)

I always assumed there was no costumes allowed purely for safety reasons, plus to not have guests blend in with actors- so I was surprised when Hollywood started to allow it.

I personally loved Bill & Ted, but you can tell the show didn't resonate well with the more general non-fan audience. It would also run 5-6 nights, which even with FFL not filled to capacity, still meant overall more capacity/or about the same number of people watching HNF since it only runs 4 shows a night. B&T only needs to run at 70% capacity for 6 shows to equal the total number of guests who could see HNF in 4 shows.

Rocky Horror had a dedicated following but wasn't relevant for today's crowds.

Saw a woman dressed as a cop being turned around at CityWalk, yet saw guests throughout the park last night with masks/heavy paint on?

The vibes last night were incredible. And by 11, the park was pretty dead with ST sitting at a 30-minute wait.

Halloween is always ironically dead, but yeah. By 12am, Stranger Things was the only house that wasn't a walk-on.

Yeah I know that the Halloween costume rule is for safety, but hhn Japan allows you to wear full Halloween masks and detailed cosplays and full entire costumes. They don't seem to have a problem. Japan always allows masks and stuff.

And after my post yesterday, I saw a guy dressed like Spiderman and he looked exactly like Spiderman. I really really don't understand how he got in. How did he enter the park. He looked incredible. Really amazing.
and a saw a group of women that were wearing a type of lingerie costume, like a Victorias secret type underwear bikini kind of costume,
and some demon ladies had a regular bra on and no shirt or anything. Not a tank top, just a bra and mini skirt, It was really out there.
do they enter the park with regular clothes and change inside?
or are these people annual pass holders or they enter the park early? How do they get by the metal detectors like that?

Not complaining because I have always, always loved costumes and cosplays at hhn ( people dressing like resident evil or silent hill characters for those houses.
The last of us" cosplays yesterday. The walking Dead cosplays for those walking Dead years)
I am a huge supporter or cosplays at hhn, but I cannot understand how some people get into the park. Specifically those bikini ladies yesterday.
how do they sneak in? Spiderman guy, how did he sneak in? I never understood ( are they hotel guests?)

( one guy was dressed like a teddy bear, he literally had a full teddy bear suit)

It was crowded from 6 pm to 11 pm.
But at midnight, Dragons didn't even have the queue ropes by 1 am lol. It always makes me laugh when they remove the dragons queue ropes and people just wander to the house lol.
Dead coconut club was pretty dead as well... Very very few people.

Yeti has longer lines than dragons, always, even at 1 am. Yeti had a 15 minute wait, dragons had nothing.

Yeah, And it's interesting and weird that California is allowing costumes since I think I have heard that they have more security problems with fights and stuff.
I think I've heard they get more problems? Is Orlando more tame than California?
makes me wonder how yesterday, Halloween, was for hhn Cali. Maybe I can check on Twitter.

you made me wonder, about yesterday for them over there.

Not just cultural norms, but legal norms. There's almost little to no chance you'd ever be attacked with any kind of weapon in a Japanese theme park.
