On Sunday, JungleSkip and I took the crossover from Seuss and managed to get into HHN a little bit early. It really made a difference and allowed us to hit 5 houses before 8. Silent Hill and Gothic were out of the question by that point though.

We may have just had different experiences then. I tried hanging right and doing House of Horrors and then Alice Cooper, and then worked around one night and it seemed to work well up until I got to the soundstages. By the time I got to them, they were already all over an hour. However, when I did the soundstages first, I was able to get all of them done within an hour and by the time I got to the Walking Dead, it was only about 10-15 min. I had all of the houses done within two hours.

What day of the week? The trend I've been seeing is the amount of Stay and Scream guests (and total attendees) has been increasing, resulting in the soundstage houses to each amass 30 minutes waits (or more) almost immediately. House of Horrors & Cooper take a little more time to fill up, so if you're just getting in at 6 and the 3 sound stages are already mobbed, it's best to just hit the houses that don't have a long wait...

Nope, that's only if you're gonna do Stay and Scream. If he's going to enter from the gates, he needs to go the opposite way. I'd actually recommend arriving around 5 PM, as insane as that sounds - security has been nuts this year, with waits of over an hour reported at opening. Be there early and be ready. They've consistently opened the park gates themselves around 6 PM. If you show up at 6, you will wait at least half an hour or more to get through the security mess.

Once inside, hang right to do House of Horrors immediately. I'd actually recommend hitting Alice Cooper right after due to how the lines are set up. The House of Horrors exit will have you pop out right next to Cooper, and the Cooper exit will have you pop out right next to Penn & Teller. You can probably get right into Alice Cooper by the time you just walked from the House of Horrors exit to P/T.

Walking Dead, by this point, will likely have amassed maybe a 20 minute wait... go ahead and just wait it out. Everything else is up to your judgement. Silent Hill almost always drops to 15 minutes or so in the last hour the event is open since it's usually the first house everyone hits. Gothic & Dead End will likely drop to 30 minutes later in the night... you may just need to stick it out for one or the other. Do keep in mind that most people consider them the best houses of the event this year.

Do this, all of this! Couldn't of said it better myself!

I'm so excited, I've never been to HHN before… Next weekend will be my first time!
I used to play Silent Hill with my brother when we were younger...In the opinion of Silent Hill fans on here, did the house live up to your expectations?

I did the event on a Friday and Saturday. Friday I started at House of Horrors and Saturday I started with Silent Hill. I think you're right though in that they're probably more Stay and Scream guests resulting in longer lines at the soundstages.

Well my original idea was to head to Walking Dead first as I figured it would be the most crowded...but then I read the OU guide as instructed and it told me to go right first.

So now I'm really confused. If gothic and Dead End are the best houses maybe I should do those first?

I guess the point of going right is that the first few houses will be walk on

Stay and scream will back up the the first two sound stage houses (SH & Gothic) so if you are not in early it is best to go the opposite way and hit HOH, AC, and then P&T as those lines should be almost walk on. Then head to WD... anything at under a thirty minute wait for that house is probably a win.

Be there EARLY (security) so you are at the FRONT of the line when the gate opens, you want the crowd at your back.

If possible spend the $20 and get the early entry, it will put you at Dead End when the gates open and you will have already done SH & Gothic.

It certainly did for me. The set design was something of a cross between both the games, and the set for the first film. There were a lot of homages that I appreciated, but I won't name them for the sake of surprise.

Friday night was crowded, but not as crowded as the preceding Thursday or Sunday. Streets were always walkable. Counterintuitive, but all I can figure is word of the multi-night passes has hit the general public.

Also, I take back my earlier criticism (although I still think it was founded at the time). House of Horrors has improved leaps and bounds, is not a strong contender for my #2 house of the year.

How accurate are the wait ties Uni sends over over text messages if you sign up to get them. I have gotten them the past 2 Fridays to see how they waits go and just wondering if they are pretty accurate?

That depends - do you prefer the games, or the movies? Orlando's house is very much centered on the film, recreating many of its sets and movie-specific characters. There are several game-specific characters that were tossed in as an afterthought. Luckily, the movie has all the headliner characters. They nail the atmosphere at the beginning, it gets a little confused later on. (All IMO.) I will say that hearing the Siren is EPIC and inspires incredible anxiety, so take your time in that first room so you get to hear it.

Here are the characters you can expect to see (in spoiler tags, of course!):

Acid-spewing creature
Grey baby creatures from the first film's other world sequence
Police officer from the film
The Red Nurse (film version)
Alessa (burn victim version)
Barbed wire contortionist (from the film)
Gas-masked disciples (from the film)
Bogeyman (from Silent Hill Downpour)
The Nurses (of course!)
Pyramidhead
Robbie the Rabbit (mannequin only)

I'm a fan of both, but I slightly lean towards the games… Either way this sounds great!

Some people just cant take a joke. Article quoted below with necessary spoilers due to descriptions of Bill & Ted for those wishing to keep such things a surprise.

Florida voters need to know about the appalling attempts by Universal Studios in Orlando to influence the November election in favor of President Obama. Since the park hosts more than 6 million visitors a year, about 500,000 per month -- maybe double that during Halloween Horror Nights throughout October -- this isn’t a campaign to be taken lightly.

I went to Halloween Horror Nights last weekend and was shocked that Universal was using its amusement park as a political platform to reach the masses in favor of Obama and to slam Republican contender Mitt Romney in a show called “Bill and Ted’s Adventure.”

We went to the show thinking it was going to be centered on a movie by the same name. We had no idea its premise had an election theme. But at first, we thought it was going to be OK, since it was Bill and Ted who were running for election. Instead, though, the “show” turned into a 40-minute campaign rally for Obama, defaming Romney.

In the show, a black man was dressed up in a suit and sunglasses looking all cool and singing a rap about how he was the first black president. He makes references to gay rights, women's contraception, killing Osama bin Laden, supporting Big Bird and the like. All the while, the crowd was getting pumped up and cheering the entire time. The black man’s “opponent” was a white man talking like a "nerd" and looking all disheveled as he stumbled out saying that he lied in the debate, that he shoves grannies off the cliff. "Oh, I didn't know that women could vote," he even said at one point.

The show, of course, ended with the most popular songs blasting as dancers took to the stage, making it a big, cool Obama party to appeal to the voters...

And that's why they had to make changes to the show. :\
