It was crazy busy, I was eating at Louies when TWD hit 120 mins and the line was spilling out into the streets. CRAZY!!! Saw Penn and Teller, Gothic, Dead End, and Silent Hill also all hit 90 mins tonight. Also the fountain show seemed to play more often and there were definitely more actors in the streets.

Were you their tonight Figment? I honestly have been a hater on the streets so far and thought it was better tonight. Now it wasn't great by any means but I thought it was better. What did you think?

Hey guys what time do they allow guest into the holding area over by Finnegan's for HHN? And then around what time have they been letting everyone loose from that area?

Hey everyone...havent been to HHN in almost 10 years...was thinking of going on Sunday the 28th.

Question...what are the typical crowd levels/waits on Sundays? Will it be busier becauase its the last weekend?

Any advice on what houses to do first? I'm assuming Walking Dead will be the most popular?

Thanks, Mike

It'll be packed as all hell. My best advice is to do Stay and Scream in the New York lockdown area (near Finnegan's) and hit up Silent Hill, Gothic, Dead End, Walking Dead, Penn & Teller (in that order) and then wait it out for House of Horrors & Alice Cooper.

Well Sunday should still be the least crowded night of the weekend right?

Wednesday will presumably be the lightest. Sunday shouldn't be quite as bad as Friday or Saturday, but Thursdays/Sundays have been pretty rough this year due to increased attendance and the loss of the 8th house. It can be done with a proper plan, I don't want to dissuade you - just expect to wait some time for the last 3 houses or so.

Not interested in paying $90+ the cost of HHN...

How bad of waits are we talking per house? Like 1 hour or more? how long do the houses last?

- - - Updated - - -

I don't live in Orlando, and cannot go in the middle of the week. I am going to the Orlando area that weekend to visit family. So I figured I may go since Im in the area.

If you wait near Mummy in the Stay & Scream area, you'll be among the first to get to Silent Hill... so your wait there will be 5 minutes or less. You'll wait 10-15 minutes for Gothic and 15-20 for Dead End. Walking Dead should be 5 minutes or less until after 7. Penn & Teller will be about 30. House of Horrors/Alice Cooper fluctuate... you could wait anywhere from 20 to 90 minutes. If you wait towards the end of the night, they'll drop considerably. (I waited 15 minutes for House of Horrors around 12:45 last Sunday when the wait was 80 minutes around 9).

Each house lasts between 3-6 minutes, depending on the length of the house and the speed the "line" is moving.

I did Stay & Scream on Sunday 9/30. I can't tell you exactly what time they started letting people in, but I entered around 4:45. They let us out around 5:50 and escorted everybody to Silent Hill.

We waited 5 minutes for Silent Hill, next went straight to Gothic and waited 5 minutes for that, then queued up for Dead End until it opened it at 6:30 and walked right in. After that we walked around the park to Penn & Teller and waited 15 minutes for that.

If Stay & Scream works that well every night you could have 5 houses done before 7:30 probably. We didn't check the wait times for Alice Cooper or House of Horrors until later on in the night so I don't know who the waits were earlier on those.

I agree that the fountain show definitely played more often and it actually seemed to draw peoples attention. Also, I never saw a house go below 60 minutes until approximately 12:15ish. You can literally do 3 houses in the final 45 minutes of the event, though.

I'm there Thursdays and Sundays... (and weds starting next week) The actors in the streets know their routine better now and thus go for it. I was wearing my birthday button (close enough...) and the ones who saw it were going crazy for me :-X I had some vampires tag team me by distracting in front then running behind me  though their was still the issue of distance that "might" be fixed starting wed... :look:

well Sunday the event closes at Midnight...doesn't give a ton of time (opens at 6:30).

Thinking - get there 30 mins before it opens.
House of Horrors - I love classic horror movies.
skip Cooper
Penn and Tellar
Walking Dead - hopefully the line won't be too crazy at that time...
skip Dead End
Gothic
Silent Hill
and then HRRR...

like I said, don't need to see everything...

Wrong order of houses. But yes, no later than 30 minutes before the event.

Like ReelJustice said, the order of the houses are backwards. The soundstages have consistently been longer. Do Silent Hill, Gothic and Dead End first and then head over to House of Horrors and Penn and Teller.

Nope, that's only if you're gonna do Stay and Scream. If he's going to enter from the gates, he needs to go the opposite way. I'd actually recommend arriving around 5 PM, as insane as that sounds - security has been nuts this year, with waits of over an hour reported at opening. Be there early and be ready. They've consistently opened the park gates themselves around 6 PM. If you show up at 6, you will wait at least half an hour or more to get through the security mess.

Once inside, hang right to do House of Horrors immediately. I'd actually recommend hitting Alice Cooper right after due to how the lines are set up. The House of Horrors exit will have you pop out right next to Cooper, and the Cooper exit will have you pop out right next to Penn & Teller. You can probably get right into Alice Cooper by the time you just walked from the House of Horrors exit to P/T.

Walking Dead, by this point, will likely have amassed maybe a 20 minute wait... go ahead and just wait it out. Everything else is up to your judgement. Silent Hill almost always drops to 15 minutes or so in the last hour the event is open since it's usually the first house everyone hits. Gothic & Dead End will likely drop to 30 minutes later in the night... you may just need to stick it out for one or the other. Do keep in mind that most people consider them the best houses of the event this year.

We may have just had different experiences then. I tried hanging right and doing House of Horrors and then Alice Cooper, and then worked around one night and it seemed to work well up until I got to the soundstages. By the time I got to them, they were already all over an hour. However, when I did the soundstages first, I was able to get all of them done within an hour and by the time I got to the Walking Dead, it was only about 10-15 min. I had all of the houses done within two hours.

My plan is to hangout at the Stay and Scream area until they open up and then head straight to the sound stage houses. This has been my basic plan for all the years I have gone and has worked out fairly well in the past. I just hope it isn't to insanely packed that Friday night.
