BTW, I would expect any AP Preview to be similar to IOA's preview - where there was a marked-down ticket for entry.

I'm most curious what system they'll use for AP preview reservations. I'm out of state and will plan a quick trip depending on the date we get, but I imagine demand will be high - I waited over an hour in a virtual queue just for a Mardi Gras float reservation, so we'll see I guess...

The question I have is, if it’s a paid preview, does that mean Passholders can purchase tickets to go to multiple days of previews?

…and what happens if you purchase for an available date when they go live, but can’t then get time off work or similar?

I mean I assume you’d treat it like you were planning any other trip that involves buying admission tickets - don’t buy a date unless you’re 100% you can go that day lol

Under normal circumstances that‘s easy enough to do, but whenever UO offers AP holders anything that needs to be reserved it tends to be chaotic and you often have to grab what you can get.

I know they previously said that the date specific AP one day tickets could be transferred to other dates, so I’m just curious how they would handle it with lower priced paid preview tickets. It’s just difficult when you’re a nine hour flight away.

These aren't normal circumstances. It's basically a "Paid Technical Rehearsal". You're assuming all risks if rumors end up being correct.

Reservations in the past have been offered as a freebie. You're taking the hit for the loss if you are a no-show due to anything outside Universal's control.

Yeah I imagine you’re right. It might still be worth a gamble depending on the price. It’s going to be interesting to see how the reservations go regardless, I’m sure the UOAP Facebook group will be in meltdown.

The stories I've heard about the IOA previews sounds like the feeling at the time was they got burned by having too many community/passholder/TM previews and it hurt attendance when the park actually opened because so many (local) people had already been. That combined with the botched marketing of "Universal Escape".

I think the current plan is working as planned-- TMs are raving about the park already. In the next week or two their families will do the same (and probably post photos). Passholders will then do the same in the weeks after that. All this works together to sell those multi-day tickets to those who "just have to go no matter what", then single day tickets fill in the (limited) remaining space.

When we did IOA AP previews all we had to do was upgrade our AP. Went many times (The put a sticker on the back of the AP the turnstile could rread). Never bought a ticket

I'm gonna be honest, if single day tickets go on sale and September sells out in minutes, I will be absolutely furious lol

That will certainly not be the case. Labor day, maybe

Outside of the first 3-4 weeks and 4th of July week... I wouldn't stress about it.

So you paid to get in, right? Haha.

Obviously we live in different times. The gist I was referring to the previews where guests had to purchase a ticket at a reduced price.

EDIT: updating with article from the Sentinel in 1999.

That was for day guests AP (which actually started earlier than those) was just an AP upgrade (funny side note - I went every day after work and my pass got so worn from passing through the turnstile slot the sticker came off and jammed it. Had to replace the pass)

My question is will they stagger the AP previews based on pass type? Premier first few days, followed by Preferred, then open to all level?
