I hate saying this, but this is one of the silliest/messiest ways to release tickets. I personally can care less since I have an AP ticket for the first day and plan on going to previews. But knowing someone who's an avid fan of the parks like me not able to go the first week is disappointing.

They unfortunately had to cancel hotels/travel/etc. If May tickets were not gonna be available... just let people know in advance.

I'm all for controlled measures and limiting capacity, but randomly dropping tickets at 6AM on a Thursday with no advanced warning is not the way to do it.

I do think lack of clarity has been a huge problem from the start when it comes to tickets.

Pure speculation, but I wonder if the random unannounced 6am Thursday drop is a strategy to not overload their system/servers. If people aren't anticipating the drop, then web traffic will be a bit more spread out.

Which also now makes me wonder...will they drop AP previews the same way?

I’ve mentioned this before, but updates to the ticketing store are always pushed live early in the morning after (what i’m assuming is) some overnight automated process that runs. This happens with every ticket release (past Epic drops, HHN tickets/FFPs/etc). They’re always live around 6a and then Universal updates the main site and tweets about it around 10a.

So, if preview tickets go on sale in the ticket store then yes, the products would appear early in the morning. However, if they wanted to gate access to them, they could always just set up a queue-it waiting room and keep the line paused until a specific time.

That's the gist.

I don't mind that strategy, but they could've done a "Here's what's coming" so people knew what to plan for.

We are going 9/24 - 10/1. When I got my two 1 day tickets, October and November were showing as sold out, so I booked 9/29 and 9/30. Am I able to switch 9/30 to 10/1 or 10/2 if I call in and tell them the situation?

If there's availability now, they may be able to help. Definitely give them a call.

Thanks, Brian! I forgot to add, both months are now showing as completely open. I'm guessing it was just a computer glitch. I've seen others on Twitter referencing the same thing. Here's hoping they can help me out :)

They might be trying to fix the glitch where some months are showing completely sold out.

I will simply have to close my eyes and let my bank account silently take the blow. Although I just peeked at the current Express prices and I did NOT realize they got that high

Hopefully Express is available for my solo June trip, but I'll definitely have to get it for my September trip with my partner, otherwise we won't ride a single thing if the lines are anything like anticipated, lol

What I had to do is refresh the page several times. Also, I allowed for the page to load for like several minutes after each refresh.

You don’t have to guess, to see what it costs for the other two parks that day.

I don't recall any availability for May when buying AP tickets a month ago either. 2nd week of June and up were all available.

IIRC when AP tickets first went up they were available but sold out quickly.

Once released news would spread quickly and people would hammer the servers anyway whether they announced it beforehand or not. Social media makes that happen easily nowadays.

To reiterate - May single-day tix were never released today. It went straight to June 1.

I'm glad those who have been waiting for single day tickets can finally purchase them (or attempt to purchase them... as long as the website's working and it's not in May).

I'm still waiting for fully customizable tickets for 2 days at Epic, 1 day at the existing parks.

I wonder if a lot of folks are trying to rush to the site to get the first days of Epic... not realizing it's not an option.
