Honestly, with what Fallow mentioned, I get the feeling more that it's for Insidious and not Blumhouse.

FWIW, I think Blumhouse is just supporting the local scene. Some of the folks who run the Shockwave podcast are friends/fans of the organizers. No inside info there.

For sure we can expect announcements at Scare LA and Midsummer Scream these next two weekends. I feel like they're holding off this week, the same reason they did during D23, with SDCC making huge announcements, they wouldn't want maze announcements to be drowned out by more popular ones.

Yeah, HHN just happens to fall under unfortunate timing for announcements.

Watch, marketing will troll us hard by making the next announcement be the return of Jabawockeez.

Oh dear God, I forgot they hadn't announced that yet! At least Murdy announced that it would be a while till they start making sort of big temporary changes to TWD Attraction for future HHNs. That way we don't have to be tricked with a new "The Walking Dead Attraction, featuring (characters from popular horror movie in current year)".

What are the odds that rather than the Blumhouse logo being the facade for the mashup maze, it's instead the facade from a house in one of the featured movies in the maze?

What are the chances that they announce everything at once? Isn't that a problem with the IPs and stuff? Because I'm twiddling my thumbs over here...

Yeah, I don't think the copyright owners would be thrilled with USH announcing the remaining 5 mazes on the same day, especially since I'm sure more people will focus on the popular ones over ones that most won't care for. Though as far as my memory can reach, I know 2013 we had one of the latest maze announcements with El Cucuy being released at the end of August. There might be other years with later announcement dates, but worse case scenario, maze announcements stretch into late August, along with the website launch.

Quite the tall facade..

I don't see why that'd be impossible.

To me, I expect MSS, three in-between MSS and ScareLA, and Scare LA.

If I was to guess/bet, Insidious at MidSummer, Ash vs. Evil Dead, Blumhouse, and Jigsaw to be announced on August second, and Chucky to be announced at ScareLA.

I expect Orlando's lineup and website to go up on the second, and that I would say that you could see Hollywood's come up the wednesday after that, with Jabbawockeez and the Terror Tram announced then.

Just a guess, but that's my side of it.

You know what would be really great?.... Is if they went the Orlando route of 2007 & 2009 where they had a placeholder page featuring 3 big IP characters without actually announcing anything. It was just "they'll be there". Of course, for Orlando, that was also the era of good websites with slow build up & epic reveals, along with storytelling. Aside from all of that, I wish they'd at least "tease" something to hold us over. Theme park announcements & Nerd-cons be damned.

2007 - I THINK this was the teaser site image. But I honestly can't remember.

2009- This was the teaser site image. All it had was this & some lightning/thunder effects.

So while yes, both years had a "theme", it was a nice way of just saying "hey... these guys are coming", without giving any further details right away. Something like this, would totally generate hype & keep us sedated until an actual announcement happens.

Ahh, I miss those days. I wish Hollywood kept the interactivity that they used to have on their website as well.

With a potential Chucky maze coming this year, does anyone think that Insult Emporium will come back?

Hopefully since roasting has been apparent in today's culture. I'd be really happy if they put it near the facade like they did with the HoH overlay back in 2009. I would imagine it would be a booth off to the side, like the skeleton ticket booth from Alice Copper: Goes to Hell 3D.

did anyone else see the tweet from Muddy at 10am? I get his tweets sent to me as alerts. it was almost instantly deleted so I have no screenshot. but it said something like "presale tix for first 2 weekends onsale now! buy during presale and get 1 of 5 prizes/giveaways (followed by. facebook link)".

maybe it was a tweet that had been written ahead of time and was set to post today? And in the midst of things getting all screwed this season he forgot about it? I saw the tweet preview and by the time I clicked on it to send me to Twitter it was deleted.
