Yeah, that's true lmao. But I think the lines could be worse this year. Some of the rumored houses are just asking for ridiculous wait times lol.

Also: A Brendan Fraser Mummy house might do kinda good right now.

The movie just started shooting this month. I'm not gonna bet my life on it or anything but I highly, highly doubt FNaF releases this year, especially when a rushed production gambit already blew up in Blumhouse's face once with Black Christmas.

FNAF *will* probably come to HHN whether some fans want it or not, but in all likelihood it's gonna be a next year thing.

You’re probably right, but it’s been in pre-production for a long time. I’d be shocked if shooting wasn’t finished by mid to late March.
Blum is known to turn around movies very quickly when they’re motivated.

For what it’s worth, I just asked and my 15 and 17 year old think FNAF sucks. They say it was huge a few years ago but not any more, and mostly with “nerds” not mainstream teen culture. They love ST, The Boys, Umbrella Academy, Buffy, so they are not an odd sub segment that doesn’t like fun stuff or whatever.

I never heard of it until this forum so I can’t comment, but is it really as big and far reaching as people are acting like it is? As big as TLOU? As big as Stranger Things?

Since I never hear of it outside this forum, I do wonder if perspective is a little bit overhyped on it.

Tbh, that doesn't really surprise me. Like was said earlier, I think FNAF would be a significant draw for the people who were there for it when it first came out, but unless the movie turns out as a surprise smash hit, I only see it being included as a fan service addition rather than a mainstream one, a-la killer klowns or trick r treat.

This is getting really off topic but I seriously disagree that FNaF isn’t mainstream anymore. The movie started production with zero trailers like 2 weeks ago or something and some variation of “FNAF” or “FNAFMOVIE” has been trending on Twitter daily since.

It would be an absolutely huge move for Universal to get it, but unless something insane happens it’s definitely not in the cards for this year

Perspective from a younger person here: FNAF, while definitely not the cultural monolith it was a few years ago, would still probably be a big draw. From what I've seen, a lot of folks stuck with the series after it kinda became saturated and reached the level of low-quality content being churned out that its 80's horror progenitors did too. Something something "old habits die hard", something something.

It'd certainly be a headliner, but probably wouldn't absolutely dominate the event in the way TWD and ST did.

You're right that this isn't quite comparable to BC since they've already locked down a script + done pre production, but I'd point out that not just about production. It's also marketing and publicity and making sure that you've secured a prime release date. Studios nowadays date their plum titles a year and sometimes multiple years in advance, e.g. HTTYD live action, Kung Fu Panda 4, Exorcist and Wicked all got dated 2 years in advance. It's a way of staking out your claim over a good release date, generating some early hype and signaling to other studios not to date movies with overlapping demos nearby, since they'll just get crushed.

There isn't really a good release date like that available this year. If I had to guess, FNAF will be fall or perhaps summer of 2024.

In the current climate, none of those are bigger than Stranger Things.

I would also argue in this genre at the moment, nothing would pull as many people as Stranger Things. Love it or hate it. You can’t convince me that even IT, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm St would sell nearly as much merch, or even draw remotely near the amount of people.

Scream is pretty popular right now, but again. Not even close to the same level. (Coming from someone who loves all of these IPs)

I would disagree with you. Scream has had 27 years and 5 movies (6 this year) and a tv show to gain a following compared to 7 years for ST. Screen would have just as big of an interest and drive from people as Stranger Things would, if not more. I went to a comic con this past weekend, they had four Scream cast members and two ST cast members. The Scream cast members totally blew the two ST cast members out of the water by the number of people wanting to see them. I think screen would be a merch draw, and I think it would bring people when that wouldn’t normally come in. Stranger Things would also do that, but because Scream has not been at the Orlando event since 2006, I feel it would be a huge hit. Probably as big as ST.

I think Scream would be huge - but I don't think it would ever draw nearly the crowds that Stranger Things did.

That said - I want Scream at the event SO badly. (I literally have a Ghostface tattoo lmao)

Scream IMO is going to be a huge addition to any years lineup, this is the year to do it, with the new movie. We need a new big time slasher, we've seen jason, michael, leatherface..... etc. its time to bring in new blood!

We have seen Chucky before tho not to mention he’s on the merch pretty much every year now. Don’t get me wrong I’m excited for him epically since I started going to HHN in HHN 23 so I never seen a Chuckle house(I’ve seen a Chucky zone) but he’s definitely not new blood.

The Horror Night Nightmares owner is very heavily implying on their Discord that we’ll be getting a space-themed original in place of the “anchor” clue.

Go to that event again when Scream isn’t coming out on 2weeks and S.T. Releases final season. Nothing against scream, used to be my favorite movie, but not S.T level right now. Especially merchandise wise.

Me likey... If this is correct, it would be the first original proper space/sci-fi house since 2008's Interstellar Terror.
