Robert just described my IP hall of fame lineup. That would be amazing.

(I too am depressingly old- and I seem to get older every year!)

Anyone else having trouble coming up with what could be bigger than Stranger Things or The Last Of Us currently? I can't think of anything that hasn't already come to HHN. For me it would be John Carpenter's The Thing or a new Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street or Alien house, but I'm depressingly old. We've had Exorcist, Halloween, Shining, etc... Probably something super obvious I'm just not thinking of. Maybe Stephen King related? I'll shut up because I'm just vomiting things people ask about every year, but this one's a stumper.

Also, any word on Chucky being in the role the Pumpkin Lord was in last year? Master of ceremonies or whatever? Or is it pretty much just the house? Just curious since they have a bit more flexibility with Chucky than most IP characters.

In the current climate, none of those are bigger than Stranger Things.

I would also argue in this genre at the moment, nothing would pull as many people as Stranger Things. Love it or hate it. You can’t convince me that even IT, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm St would sell nearly as much merch, or even draw remotely near the amount of people.

Scream is pretty popular right now, but again. Not even close to the same level. (Coming from someone who loves all of these IPs)

The Conjuring universe is bigger for HHN. I remember Legacy saying we almost had “The Nun” last year, so maybe the chance for it is back this year.(I don’t know what happened last year so it may be off the table completely)

The Conjuring is big… But still no, Stranger Things budget alone for their last season was almost what the first Conjuring brought in at box office all together.
I’m not saying that Stranger Things would be a better house than some of these options, in context of a larger IP though, it’s not even close in 2023.

Maybe but for an event like HHN it can be augured Conjuring is bigger. People of the event be asking for Conjuring for years and we never had it. We came close a few time like with Hive in 27 and what ever happened last year.

People like us, who go to the event year in and year out, want those IPs and we hear it in these inner circles a lot. We are buying HHN tickets regardless.

The Conjuring isn’t going to bring in half the merch sales. It also wouldn’t bring in the same amount of new ticket sales for people who otherwise might not go out of their way to go to HHN.

I think you are truly doubting most people. Yes, if we are talking about teens and young adults ST is bigger. However, not everyone falls into the category. Conjuring is as highly requested IP amongst us and by the general public. ST is big but so is Conjuring. Besides Legacy and others “insiders” have said no Netflix.

I kind of hate to put it into the aether, but there’s an outside chance at the Five Nights at Freddie’s movie releasing this year.

my fellow old people can argue about it’s popularity, but that thing is a merchandising juggernaut with the kids.

Yes, he did say that as far as he knew. Netflix and Universal weren’t working together this year. Things can change/ new info can be gathered. Time will tell.

Things can change a lot(I think we all know that) and ST could come but that doesn't mean it’s the only “big” IP out there. Universal dosent need Anything to drive sales. The event is big enough as it is. And correct me if I’m wrong, but someone said no ST just today or yesterday.

Yeah, that's true lmao. But I think the lines could be worse this year. Some of the rumored houses are just asking for ridiculous wait times lol.

For what it’s worth, I just asked and my 15 and 17 year old think FNAF sucks. They say it was huge a few years ago but not any more, and mostly with “nerds” not mainstream teen culture. They love ST, The Boys, Umbrella Academy, Buffy, so they are not an odd sub segment that doesn’t like fun stuff or whatever.

I never heard of it until this forum so I can’t comment, but is it really as big and far reaching as people are acting like it is? As big as TLOU? As big as Stranger Things?

Since I never hear of it outside this forum, I do wonder if perspective is a little bit overhyped on it.

As big as TLOU or Stranger Things? No. But, I think it's popular enough to be a headliner for the event. I feel like FNAF resonates better with people between the ages of 18 and 25, as those people most likely grew up loving FNAF like myself and have probably been with it since the start. Is it as huge as it was a few years ago? I'm not entirely sure tbh but I imagine its popularity will explode again when the film releases. Realizing that the first FNAF game was released in 2014 makes me feel old lol.

It’s lore is dark, I won’t say too much Into it but it’s going to be very dark for a PG-13 movie as someone who has read into the lore. It will be like your delved into a crime scene and conspiracy of a restaurant think like a perspective of a serial killer.

The movie just started shooting this month. I'm not gonna bet my life on it or anything but I highly, highly doubt FNaF releases this year, especially when a rushed production gambit already blew up in Blumhouse's face once with Black Christmas.

FNAF *will* probably come to HHN whether some fans want it or not, but in all likelihood it's gonna be a next year thing.

If it’s not horror, we’re left with Batman, or Jurassic Park.

Just hop over to Islands and use the ride. First swim-through house. You get pushed over a waterfall at the end. Scary!

I'd sincerely like to see what they'd do with a J-Park house. Could be fun.

Jurassic Park/world house- talk about recognition with the general population! That would be huge, far surpass FNAF and some of the others tossed around right now in terms of appeal and brand- But dinosaurs aren’t everyone’s thing, so maybe it wouldn’t carry over into an attendance bump?

It’s almost like if you want to boost attendance, you want a property that will resonate a ton with the people you AREN’T already attracting.
