Twister had a decent amount of queue. It ran along the front of the building and then of course the switchbacks before the first preshow. Each preshow was really just disguised parts of the queue.
I guess I never noticed it, I don't recall seeing all the switch backs but it's probably just because I never waited more than 10 minutes for it

What I don't get about this ride is why is Jimmy challenging us to a race when we're supposedly going to see a taping of his show?

This. He does these skits on his show where he'll challenge a celebrity to race him on a tricycle or whatever around the corridors of the building, so it kinda relates to his show. Expect this to be pretty ridiculous though.
The UOR blog post does say "celebrity appearances will be released over time".

I'm still calling Justin Timberlake... him and Jimmy are as tight as you get in show business. The only excusable reason for not having Timberlake in this ride would be if he asked for too much money.

Team Members will dressed as Pages, no?
Not confirmed, but it would make sense.

Just go to Monsters cafe and get comfy.

If the average return time were in the neighborhood of up to 30 minutes later, I'd be totally fine with this option, as I love the atmosphere in the cafe. However, I get the distinct impression that this is going to be like Fastpass, where if you don't reserve early in the day, your return time is going to be hours into the future.

Am I wrong to be a little concerned about this "virtual queue"/no line situation? I'd much rather wait at the attraction than go elsewhere and try to fit another one into a window of who-knows-what length.
I'm sure you will get a wait time estimate when you put yourself into the virtual queue.

I'm sure of that, too. I still think it's ultimately going to be more of hassle than a convenience for the way I tour USF (I like to methodically work my way around the park, not jump around and backtrack). If it's a positive for others, I guess I'll take the hit for the team.

Eh in that area you're near Rocket, Mummy, Shrek, and Minions - technically even Transformers.

It's not like they're asking you to amuse yourself out by Men in Black.

You're not wrong about the geography. I just hope the window doesn't affect me too much.

And yeah, I know it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but this could foretell further non-standby attractions in the future, which - as an extremely ambivalent Fastpass user at WDW - is not an idea that thrills me. I hope we don't get to a point where we need to start really planning out our days at Universal like we have to do at WDW.
