That... actually makes a lot of sense

I'm curious to see the setting of Yeti. If it does end up being Skunk Ape in the Everglades, or something different
Yeti was a phenomenal house. I’ve heard the new one could be like the Japanese version of the yeti called a hibagon. Which would sort of make sense how Demon Slayer could have been code for it if they play it like it’s a demon

I am inordinately excited for this lineup. Chucky and The Exorcist being pretty weak IPs imo are more than made up for by TLOU and the strong concepts for the originals this year.

Agreed. Chucky I'm okay with (if they use puppets), and Exorcist I'm straight up bummed about.

But it BLOWS my mind that we could see TLOU and Stranger Things at the same event.

Everything comes down to execution, but if Chucky leans into dark humor like the scare-zone did, it could be a lot of fun even without puppets. Agreed Exorcist worries me, but fingers crossed it comes with a twist when it's announced.

But with you, even if they disappoint, two solid IPs it will be hard to muck up, two originals likely dripping with fan service, a truly novel idea for an original, and the latest Universal Monsters house. That alone would be a solid lineup, and really can only go up.

I guess I’m the only Chucky fan on here then lol. Yes it’s silly. Yes it’s dumb. But that’s why I like it. It’s funny, over the top, very camp and just fun. I also do like Leprechaun too for the same reasons. Looking forward to the house just for the dark humour. Is Chucky scary? Ignoring the burned and melted versions in Child’s Play 1 and 2 not at all. Is Chucky fun? Absolutely. Some really comedic moments in the show, and played very tongue in cheek. Hopefully there’s a chance for real interaction similar to the last Chucky scarezone. I think it’ll be a nice break from everything else at the event this year, and compliment the lineup nicely. Having ten very intense scary houses will just lessen the impact of them all. Variety is the spice of life!

Two questions: how's the show if you watched it? Any good way to describe for someone with no background in the franchise?

Also, love the profile pic of the tiki mugs. I got a few of those at home!

Cheers I managed to collect the set. Love them!

Chucky is a “Good Guy” doll possessed by the soul of a serial killer, who does what serial killers do.

The show picks up from the last two Chucky movies (Curse of Chucky and Cult of Chucky). These films establish that Chucky can now split his soul into multiple Chucky dolls.

The show focuses on high school kids being manipulated by Chucky to kill, but deals with bullying, being gay in high school, family pressures and a maniac killer doll. The first season is pretty well done, and brings back Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) to explain her backstory with Chucky before he became a doll, and both Andy and Kyle (kids who deal with Chuck in the original Child’s Play movies) come back to kill Chucky for good.

The second season goes a bit rogue, largely based in a catholic school for wayward children, and also brings back Chucky’s children from the ending of “Seed of Chucky”. It’s not as good as the first season and gets a little complicated with the lore, but there’s some interesting and fun kills. Be interested to see how they navigate the catholic setting and religious overtones of the season (including when Chucky causes a priest to explode).

Overall for the house I’m hoping for a fun experience, some inventive kills but more played for laughs.

Just wanted to say hi to my British brother. :) And also, I must chime in I still HATE Chucky. hahah. Glad you're excited though. There is an ass for every seat.

Was the Buy 1, Get 1-night free ticket sold last year? I can't remember for the life of me...

If you've never seen all the previous movies, you'd likely be completely lost by the halfway point of season one. Characters and concepts from pretty much all the movies are brought into the series, and so much of the series relies on the fact you know their relationships to each other and witch Chucky, that you know the events of all the movies, that you understand goofy little concepts like the Tiffany/Jennifer Tilly stuff, and that you know Chucky's history. It's a love letter to the franchise as a whole and to the fans of it, bringing it all together, and if someone is willing to sit down and invest 16 hours across two seasons, they might as well spend that same time watching the movies first so that the show actually makes sense.

On paper this year looks absolutely amazing! IMO the Exorcist is one of the scariest movies ever , so I’m cool with it but there are a lot rumors floating around that it’s not coming.

Anyone hear anything about the Exorcist being changed? Actually heard this on Facebook so really not credible one person said it was changing to Evil dead Rises and someone else actually said Slaughter Cinema 2

They honestly don’t give a damn if you know what’s going on or not. That’s what I respect so much about the franchise. It’s more or less one man’s passion project that has been ongoing for decades. No reboots, barely any retconning, just one wacky story that keeps getting wackier.
