That would be a very strange way for Nintendo to see things.

To me, that's all the more reason to do the absolute maximum amount physically as possible.

If Nintendo’s priority is familiarity, it’s a lot less strange.

I mean, not really? The majority of the screens are extending backgrounds amid predominantly practical sets and animatronics. The major characters that aren’t practical (primarily the Bowser finale) logically make sense as projections/screens because 1) it ensures the character will never go down or be inoperable, and 2) likely aligns with Nintendo’s desire to interact with these characters through screens because that’s how people have ALWAYS interacted with them.

The AR aspect is not the same as passively watching screens, regardless of how many fans want to categorize them as such.

On top of the discussion a few have already had, I’ve seen quite a few people online and in-person incorrectly call MK a screen ride. Which, obviously, is wrong, but it is a ride that discourages you from focusing on physical set-pieces in favor of the visor in front of you. In a sense, it might be the ultimate screen ride.

In an effort to stay on topic, I’ll raise again that I’m generally pro-screen and I do think Ministry is going to use them very well. But I do think the assumption that Universal is using screens in the most sparing sense possible or always using physical sets when they can should be challenged.

Mixing the AR with AAs wouldn’t match so even when characters leave AR the flow into screens to appear “seamless”

The success of that is up to you.

I would’ve rather that Lava Bowser be an animatronic, but that’s just me.

Make all of them animatronics as an all indoor version of RSR basically.

Well luckily this isn’t the Mario Kart thread. I suspect this ride in particular will absolutely have full size AAs. There is no AR rumored for this land or ride.

I think it will open. We’ve not heard any rumors of how ride testing is going though. Not sure we should expect to, but everything is silent on that end. It’s a brand new ride system to the whole world so I am sure there will be bumps in the road.

I doubt it. I think we’ll for sure see some road blocks, but it should be fine.

Now if the ride was called Tiana’s Bayou Adventure that might be a problem.

Said something similar for Unchained in the Dark Universe thread, but I'm very much hoping Battle has a great sense of pacing, with the tension and suspension lift(ing) as the ride goes on.
