Think these numbers will have an affect on the possible expansion? http://www.orlandounited.com/forums...6-percent-attendance-gain&p=146018#post146018

No, becasue you don't need to change what isn't broken. Any additions will not be happening soon. The smart thing to do is wait until the hype dies down (which will take a long time) and then do whatever they're going to do.

Nah, Uni has already done that with The Simpsons. Day late and a dollar short. The only people who seem turned on by it are the Brits as they are finally getting our reruns. Uni could have done a Betty Boop Boutique and made bucks. They know it is the new trend in Britain and building in the US. Uni marketing sucks. Disney marketing is a tornado and frightens me.

YET, I will agree that any phase II is not an obvious decision as of late. At best, I would say negotiations are ongoing. I hope so...

So much for the drawing power of HP. I mean, it only brought in an extra million people over a three month period. Such a fad.

If Phase II really gets rollin', then OU will be just like the old days. The good days. The all-or-nothing days. They'll be back and better than ever. Bring me those Powerade bottles...

I think it would be overkill if they put any expansion within the next 2 years, epecially completely replacing LC. It wouldnt make any sense for Uni to open more HP soon, because there are alot of HP fans that have yet to go. There hasnt even been a winter at WWoHP and already there is discussions of an expansion. The question on the survey was probably more to see IF you would go to the new expansion, so they can see from the results how they would do the expansion. I HIGHLY doubt anything will be beuilt within the next year.

No, you don't fix what isn't broken, but what do you do when you get an A on a test (best referrence I can think of, sorry)? You try to get an A+ on the next test. Universal knows it isn't broken, but why not ride on the Potter train (no pun intended) as long as they can? An expansion would draw people once again, and I know Universal could pull it off...

Lol, Frogki, I think it's more of an A+ to an A+++, lol. Quite frankly, the attendance boost has proven this. I just think everything needs to be completely finalized. A huge revamp to Dragon Challenge, the Forbidden Journey show building covered from any point in the park, and some new effects for Forbidden Journey to make each ride different could be an amazing way to simply advertise the rides being 'more magical than ever before', and then a nice new ride in place of Sinbad with the same theme would draw people into LC once again.

God, it's so hard not to want a full blown expansion, but I think LC is just too much of a well-themed place to give it to the Wizarding World. (Btw, that sentence was very, very hard to type out. I would love an expansion. LOVE. But I just don't see it happening...)

I think I heard that the FJ building has like an empty room so that they can open it in the future. :)

I was trying to make the point that even if it doesn't need improvement, it can always be improved (and make UOR more money xD)...

they could be surveying for a minor addition in the very near future, like they did after the first year of IOA when they added storm and the unicorn

You guys should be working for Universal! Some realy good ideas definatly need a diagon alley and a knockturn alley for a start and possibly a forbidden forest area? The possibilties are endless!

If Harry Potter WERE to ever to expand, I defiantly would like to see what the whole entire park is missing. IOA captured all of the magical moments of Harry Potter, but left out the entire concept. There is NO mention of Voldemort, at all. (Excuse me, a Voldemort barbie doll in Filch's Emporium.) But don't you think that after the movies have been out and done, that the expansion should include something to do with some sort of Story line.

I mentioned earlier on this topic, that an attraction could be created (or replaced with Poseidon) of a battle between Voldemort & Harry. Think of the epic, amazing battle scene that's in Poseidon's Fury, now imagine that same concept with TODAY'S technology, AND the idea of wands, and magic. I think it would be a brilliant attraction.

I don't think JK would be all to excited about something like that. I don't think she wants anything in the theme park to completely contradict established canon. And having a bunch of Muggles witness a battle between Harry and Voldey is basically the opposite of that.

I do think they should use Poseidon for a new HP attraction, although I would rather Dumbledore be in it than Harry. A Harry/Voldemort fight would be over pretty quick - Harry could never beat Voldemort in a straight one-on-one duel. So I would prefer to see another version of the Dumbledore/Voldemort duel from the Ministry. Dumbledore could be taking us muggles on a tour of somewhere (could be the Ministry, could be anywhere else) and the Death Eaters attack us with Voldemort as the finale.

But haven't they already contradicted canon by allowing muggles into Hogwarts? I'm pretty sure JK previously said that would never happen. And none of the WWoHP storyline was in the books, we're just supposed to assume it happened "off screen".

Not totally - it's something that would have been extremely unlikely... However, I think if it was done right this attraction might work. That's ONLY if it was done right..

In the FJ queue, Dumbledore says something along the lines of, "You may have heard a Dark Wizard is at large again: Voldemort. But I assure you you are safe within these walls..." yada yada yada. And the Dark Mark appears in FJ.

Yea, we're supposed to figure it's off screen.

And even going with Dumbledore fighting Voldemort, that would majorly conflict with canon. Dumbledore only dueled Voldemort once, and that's a big point in the series.

Wizarding World "takes place" before the end of the 4th book, in which Voldy officially returns.

But that's not totally confirmed.
