"Clock tick"? As in, a reference to The Clock of the Time Dragon?

It’s the in-world equivalent of “one sec” or “a sec.” It’s used in the novels and isn’t a specific reference to the Time Dragon.

8.5/10

Need a second screening—but all in all a really good time. The highs of the first film carry into here, however they should’ve expanded on th material more to fully make it complete (with one specific character heavily underwhelming).

Ariana’s gonna get that Oscar. Won’t be surprised if Jeff Goldblum gets one too.

With the way the film ends--they leave it open to have us then follow the events after Wicked, but no Liir physically.

If anything--the ending actually makes a massive change to Glinda in regards to the Grimorie.

I enjoyed it more than the first, but I'm probably in the minority. 82/100

I'm honestly wondering if I might find more enjoyment with Wicked: For Good as time goes on. Despite my massive problems with two specific elements, the film by and large builds upon what was done before in a really great sense.

Both films feel seamless, and unified, and I can see this be an easy watchalong session with parties.

Audiences seem to love it based on the RT audience score.

We’ll probably try and watch it next weekend but, depending on how that happens, there is some precedence for that sort of thing to occur in the novels.
I’m assuming Glinda gets possession of Grimmerie and it responds to her. In the books, she’s actually fairly proficient in magic (though not like Elphaba) and takes possession of the Grimmerie to hide it. She (with Elphaba’s granddaughter, Rain) actually use in a pretty spectacular fashion in Out of Oz.
Leaning into Glinda’s arc for subsequent movies isn’t necessarily what I want, but it’s the right move—especially with Ariana.

Anecdotally, the Thursday night 7pm showing where I'm at had almost no small children (maybe 5% at the most). It seems like a movie that children can definitely watch (unless the child is sensitive to some dramatic scenes). But, I'm thinking the main audience here would be the same audience you'd expect if you saw the musical live.

Just responding to the narrative (elsewhere on these forums) that this is a children's film ("Universal's Frozen"). I'm curious for anyone who has watched Wicked For Good in the theaters, are you seeing mostly families with small children or mostly older audiences (e.g. ages 13+)?

I think it does what it needs to mostly right, the sets and look of the film are really magical

I think some of the new scenes are good enough the issue is adding those plus two new songs create just a lot of extra time and like the first film the pacing is just going to be slower then the play

I like the first film better, but this isn't bad. Its good and While I just love the play more. I think for screen they did a great job for the most part, and if we do now get a part 3. I think it would be interesting but they really need some good songs to fill another movie up

In the film--it's established that Glinda has no form of magic and has to make do with the illusions and tricks that Oz and Morrible do. It's only until the very last moments of the film, where the Grimorie opens up for Glinda.

Elphaba does give Glinda the book too, willingly.

Yeah, I’m not really sure where this idea came from. This is a franchise that has typically appealed to older kids and obviously big time with tweens and teens. I’m not saying there aren’t 5 year olds in love with Wicked, but I think they’re relatively rare.

I really enjoyed it for what its worth. two scenes gave me goosebumps. I think the issue is there was so much humor in part one, that the seriousness and relatability to current times with part two definitely puts some people on edge and doesn't provide an escape

The audience i was with though loved ALAYM, The catfight and the tornado dropping the house on Nessa had people shook
