Have you been on a ProSlide before? They are mind bogglingly good. I rode the two at Holiday World and love them.

Actually, I have. I just meant that the saucers seemed a bit extravagant if all they did was function as a banked turn.

The writings don't speak of it so perhaps. I don't know anything more than what I originally spoke of. Too the original location of the coaster has apparently changed drastically.

The "Waturi people" are referred to a lot on their main website.

Water is Life. Life is Joy. That is the mantra by which the fabled Waturi islanders have lived on their Pacific isle for centuries.

Krakatau™
At the heart of the island, Krakatau™, the mighty Fire and Water Volcano, towers 200 feet above the tropical landscape, streaming waterfalls during the day and fiery lava effects at night. Inside the cavernous volcano, the Waturi people dare you to brave a variety of pulse-pounding water slides.

Funny, it's been so long ago I was told, I can't remember if that was it... though I believe it did start with W.

I believe actual guest area land is about 23 acres for Typhoon and 25-26 for Blizzard. Of course those parks count their parking lots, backstage areas and land around in the acreage count. (They claim Typhoon is 61 and Blizzard is 66)

That would be a nightmare for ops. Guest safety comes first and it would make a lifeguards job impossible to tell if anyone is drowning if it's like you are describing.

This announcement got a lot of traction today. I got asked about it from three different people who got the email/saw it on the news. They all asked me the same question: "Will this be included with our annual pass?" I said no.

During peak season (mid-June to mid-August), I wouldn't be surprised if the 2-story cabanas are in the $400-500 range. The wave pool cabanas at WnW are going for over $300 lately - and those are only a single story. Well, I guess there are a few steps. ;)

I can't wait to see all of those slide going up and working out which one is from the list, there also appears to be a lot more going on inside and coming out of the volcano than I had initially expected. Beyond excited. Looking at the plans does anyone else think there are way more slide pieces we have not seen in storage that look like some of those slides? Hopefully some more will arrive direct to site that we have not seen before.

We should also have some more construction updates in the next couple of days from Daniel who runs Midway Mayhem (formerly Mako madness on YouTube).

What incredible news to wake up to find (don't know how I missed this yesterday  )

I have been a little sceptical of this project at times, but this announcement really makes it seem like they know exactly what they want to do, and they've got the content to make it happen. They're absolutely nailing the ambience as well, if half the atmosphere from that video comes through in the park when it's open they're on to a winner. That music...

Okay, another tangent: the entrance will be located smack dab in-between the outermost edges of Cabana Bay's two new towers. And we know that the parking will be included with the expanded Cabana Bay parking as well. Obviously the waterways won't reach there so transportation and location suddenly has me thinking. Will Volcano Bay have its own bus system or will be merely an expansion of Cabana Bay's current existing one? Is there anything between CB's two new towers or will that be occupied by the entrance plaza for VB? Will those who park have to go all the way around CB or will there be a more direct passageway?

I know some of these questions probably don't have answers to them by even UC themselves and are insignificant but I'm just curious about how those not staying at CB will get to the park.

VB parking will be the lower floor of the south garage and there will be a shuttle from the garage along the east perimeter of the property to VB.

Ah okay, and I assume from the main IOA/USF/CityWalk area there will be its own shuttle as well or just the Cabana Bay one with an added stop?

Where did you hear this? Last I heard it was going on Adventure Way south of Cabana and not between the towers. Was something new presented yesterday by Universal?

Nope, you're right. I just looked again at the map, it juts off towards where the parking will be. 'Twas an issue of misremembering (and waking up from a 10-hour nap)...
