I'm wondering if this is for PR purposes in addition to employee morale. There's been quite a few days where IOA, USF, & WDW have
been super slow in the past 4 weeks, but Epics lines are still super long. PR purpose would be to make Epic look very successful. Kind of
like how those upstart football leagues gave away tons of free tickets to look crowded. During this past month Universal also took
down those stats that Thrill Data was able to tap into to get an idea how many tickets were sold. Pre sale numbers, before they were removed from the Universal site for the last three weeks of August were real low, but the park still ended up with long lines except for the August Sundays. ....

This might be a far fetched theory, but it would possibly explain why lines are still really really long. And at the same time they had huge hotel discounts for AP holders which I documented earlier.

I honestly think UOR expected capacity/reliability to be a lot better by now. Seems similar to the issues that plagued Volcano Bay early on with initial capacity estimates throwing the Tapu Tapu system off entirely.

They may have thought that, but a lot of posters here questioned the capacity even before the park opened. Even if everything ran full,
with no tech or weather delays, Epic would be hard pressed to handle crowds in the 30,000's, let alone 40,000. There's not a lot of attractions,
and a good number have extremely low theoretical capacity.....and yes, on reliability. The tech issues have probably dragged on longer than they expected.......
But again, if you're filling the park allotted capacity limits every day, and the lines are really long, why would you give away a ton of
comp tickets to employees. Unless, you're really not selling as many tickets as you expected to sell, and those comps are filler bodies. And your
Terra Luna park had capacity under 40% on weekdays, though 90% on weekends, during August. And hotel employee hours were cut. Something doesn't add up.

I went on Sunday and still had a good fun time, but the park still has a lot of kinks to work out and felt more haphazard than previews shockingly. The main issues I had were:

  • Monsters preshows were down at night when I did standby (did single rider for all other rides).
  • Wing Gliders capacity still isn't great. It was routinely the longest non-Ministry/Mario Kart line in the park and didn't go below 70-80 minutes until the last hour.
  • The second to last Umbridge animatronic on Ministry along with Higgeldy's platform weren't working, and the moving pendulum is broken again (that said, single rider is FANTASTIC even during a heavy downpour).
  • Stardust ops are horrendous. While both tracks were running most of the day, I was moved between nearly three trains for "capacity" reasons and only avoided going to another train because the gates were opening.

I probably won't go back until it's added to annual passes. It's just not worth paying $140-150 right now.

Wonder what month those responsible for delivering the rides and maintaining AAs would have liked to have really opened the park

This is a fallacy, even if everyone is happy there will still be issues when the tires hit the pavement sort to speak.
