Slightly wild guessing but this looks like materials for a substantial construction wall to me. The posts look pretty beefy, and designed to be bolted to concrete footings (they have a mounting flange). But it doesn't look permanent in that the wall panels look like a foam, perhaps with laminate surfaces front and back. (I've heard someone report it has a graphic pattern on it, but it looks like ripped plastic wrap to me...I don't see artwork.)

Maybe it's designed to last 4-5 years in Florida weather?

Below is my break down of what's there. 141 posts and 289 stringers (e.g., two stringers per post, upper and lower). It looks like it could encircle just over 5 acres max (if it's a circle). Since it's not going to be a circle, perhaps it's enclosing 2 to 4 acres...such as the possible Creature From the Black Lagoon area, or perhaps more logically (given where it's staged) the Ministry of Magic expansion area.

The next thing to look for is holes being dug and footings being poured somewhere!

You've gone about this the right way, but you only needed to count the support posts, the cute yellow road sweeper 4.73metres.

The stringers are 5-6metres long.

141-1 X 5-6metres = 700-840 metres

Counting the stringers was necessary to show a 2:1 (or 3:1, or 4:1) ratio with the posts in order to establish these parts as being for a wall. That's because there's been some speculating these parts could be for something other than a wall, like a structure or attraction, as below, wherein a ratio like that wouldn't necessarily exist. Not that this proves it is a wall, it just makes it extremely likely.

Could this steel be used for some other attraction than a coaster though?

Is this not related to the event space being constructed? Looks like truss pieces of a warehouse structure.

Supports for non-strenous parts of the track like brake runs and entering/exiting load platforms are usually that square shape. Not saying that’s definitely what this is but it is used for most coasters in those sections.

It still doesn't make any difference, the length of a wall of any kind is limited by how many support posts it has, it wouldn't matter if there was 140, 280, or 420stringers there, the only thing that matters is their length because every single support post has a base plate and holes at top for joining spline, it's clear all of this is the bottom row. As soon as I counted 141 yesterday it was clear that perimeter is much longer than any individual building we have permits for, there's enough supports for all 3 buildings combined.

I'm not saying counting the stringers was necessary to determine the length of the wall. I'm saying the clean ratio was helpful evidence that it IS a wall (as others speculated it all could be for something entirely different). Had there been a weird ratio of the thin bits to the post-ish bits, it would not be as obvious...and maybe what we think are stringers are diagonal bracing of some sort of small warehouse or ride, as some have speculated the parts may be for.

Interesting placement of the potential wall (picture by TommyHawkins at 2:05)... I would have thought the wall would be for Berk.

The issue is the stank is a problem when the prevailing wind switches to a South Westerly direction, so the need to protect the furthest they can, and future proof the park. I initially calculated 700metres of wall, based on the stringers being 5metres - then when I measured the most obvious place it was also 700metres. Having looked more closely the stringers could between 5.5 and 6 metres long (I believe a standard florida code might be 6m) - So we could actually have 840metres of wall in which case there might be additional sections

This kind of in-the-weeds discussion from people who are actually knowledgeable about the subjects at hand is why I'm on this site at all. Loving all of this. :fire:

I wonder what pattern might be on this proposed wall, if any? I wonder how it will end up looking from inside Berk or on Stardust?

Question I have is if this is a temp construction screen or a permanent wall/fence. I would think if it was a temp wall they would go with wood beams and plywood panels for a quick and dirty "pardon our dust" type thing. This feels way more permanent than that.

people have been, quite understandably, been putting the cart before the horse. Thinking expansion comes first This is a permanent solution to a minor problem that will grow worse as the park expands it's footprint closer to the treatment works.they probably had five years of everyone working in the Concrete plant complaining of the smell, knowing one day they will have guests in that corner.

Unless they dangle those little car pine tree scented things from the posts I don't think a wall will stop the smell. Unless I am misunderstanding your explanation, which is very possible. I'm slow without stick figure diagrams.

If they had gotten their $40 million water plant modernization plan written 4 years ago like they proposed maybe they wouldn’t have to deal with any scent problem. I do wonder what the hangup was there.
