The two restaurants at the front of the park. Exterior mostly finished but interior is being worked on.

I think shops/dining in Wizarding World as well (exterior finished, interior being worked on).

No attractions currently under construction unless you count MoM.

I was not aware of this either.

I was more so posing the question so we could consider whether it's still necessary to have an Epic Universe construction thread or whether, now that the park is open, each construction project/expansion to the park should get its own thread, similar to how construction threads have worked for the existing parks.

Good question!

We'll probably leave it up for a couple of weeks, as there may be a few things here and there, but we'll lock it up and go to individual threads for future projects.

Edit: I've removed some very general information to be respectful of the person who shared it via Patreon. I'll try to find where they may have shared it outside of Patreon, because I feel like I've heard them referencing this for quite a while.

Also unofficially, a Team Member referenced Kowalski's shop opening eventually. It's across the street from the current sweets shop, near Arcanus.

I do remember @Alicia mentioning some additional planned shops that were cut.

So maybe they are working on getting those open now.

I can't believe I'm going to say this... but I think Epic Universe needs more retail? I know space is limited, but more retail opportunities within Celestial Park would be great. Not asking for more generic Universal merch, but more unique stuff like the Crystal Arts shop at MK, a Halloween shop, wood carving station at HTTYD, etc.

I'm sure over time they'll add stuff, but Epic Universe was the first time I visited a park and didn't feel bombarded with merchandise opportunities lol

It’s weird to not have the third-party stuff like the swimsuit and apparel in port of entry, or the oyster pearl or treasures type shop in Lost Continent. Seems like that sort of stuff would fit nicely in Celestial Park.

Are there any third party shops? I know there’s no carnival games or arcades, but no third party shops, face paint or caricature is so strange feeling given their presence in the older parks.

Well, they've basically erased most of the third party stuff in Citywalk. Perhaps some of these others will disappear once their contracts/leases are up. Seems like Universal just wants their own stuff in the parks now.

At the same time, I'm kind of glad Epic Universe doesn't have as many third party offerings. While it does seem like the park could benefit from additional retail, I've found that the majority of the third party stuff tends to detract from the Universal parks rather than add to them.

Did you really go through high school if you didn't pay $20 to sit at an "oxygen bar" at a Six Flags? Or if you were pressured to buy someone you've been dating two weeks a pearl from a regional theme park stand? Generations are being robbed of these cultural touchstones!

AFAIK, the photo people are the only 3rd party vendor.

Really glad they don't have the time share sellers (yet)...

Yea, going to a Concierge Kiosk instead of those “Vacation Planning Booths” has been such a more pleasant experience.

I recall buying a pearl for my first wife at the now defunct Sea World Park in Geauga Lake, Ohio., across the lake from the also defunct Geauga Lake amusement park (long before Six Flags & then Cedar Point bought the park that ultimately expanded to include the closed Sea World park area)

Definitely don't want carnival games or sketchy 3rd party vendors at the park, I just think it'd be great to see different shops themed to different entities/worlds/holidays throughout Epic. An actual jewelry shop, kitchen shop, crystals, etc. An actual DreamWorks shop themed to the clouds would have been a nice touch too, fits in.

My hope is that the Vacation Planning Booths Westgate Vacation Club Kiosks at USF/IOA get renovated into something closer to Epic's Concierge desks. I just think it's nice to have guest service spread around the park, not just at the front.

We should bring back the survey folks who’d hound you for your email in the parks. Clearly what epic universe is missing.

The only survey I’ve gotten in Epic was exiting Potter. The questions were all related to “was the ride story easy to understand”

I’m talking about the folks who’d pester you for emails randomly in the park for 3rd parties. Not guest satisfaction TMs.
