Are rides allowed to return to full capacity June 15th in CA? Haven't been able to find any info anywhere.

Eh, it sounds like it’s not worth going back until Summer is over or until they at least extend their hours. I do want to see USH at night again!

I was at the park this morning and it was easy to walk on JW, Mummy, SLoP, and Panda. By 10, the lines started building up and by 11 the place was a mess. Did the Studio Tour after Panda and missed the Water World cut off line by 2 people. Did all this and was home by noon.

I was thinking about going again tomorrow evening to ride JW at night, but after seeing how crazy the park was today, I might just go in the AM instead.

Most lines on the lower lot were at capacity by 10am. We did everything with express but they were turning standby away from JW, Mummy and transformers temporarily.

Wow. I literally walked on JW then Mummy at 9 AM. I left the lower lot around 9:20 and rode SLoP.

Yeah I should hit Lower lot earlier but we usually start at potter and ride without express to save that for later in the afternoon. Normally we would head to the Mummy and Jw around 9:30 -10 and lines are not that bad but today seemed a lot busier.

Unsure if it’s been mentioned, but they’re no longer doing temperature checks at Citywalk. I was able to stroll in this weekend without being checked.

I also caught Universal exaggerating wait times this evening. A 50 min posted wait for FJ was a walk on and a 45 min posted wait for Transformers was 5 min. Same for Panda posted at 30 but actually 10. I’m guessing later in the evening they are trying to deter people from joining queues.

EDIT: One other detail I forgot to mention: indoor queuing is back for FJ & Transformers.

The V.I.P Tour returns June 15th. Its looking like Social distancing restrictions are going to be reduced or going away on the 15th!

Even if I do think some of the safety protocols are dumb, I still really enjoy being 6 feet away from people in line and having space to myself on rides. I know it’s a bit selfish, but I’m enjoying the luxury while it lasts.

Haven't been back to USH yet, but are they still really enforcing social distancing? The handful of times I've been back to Knott's, social distancing was pretty much out the window. It may be down to 2-3 feet, but occasionally, I'll turn around in a queue and someone will be up in my face. No associates were enforcing anything unless you came close to them without your mask on or had it below your nose.

The few times I dined out recently, restaurants were at full capacity in SoCal. Was in Vegas for Memorial weekend and while they weren't fully opened yet at that time, restaurants were also at full capacity and most don't wear masks at all in public. Went to two buffets (one mom & pop and one casino) and everything seemed pre-pandemic other than staff scooping the food on to your plate.

Seems ever since we hit the yellow tier, everyone went back to normal.

The only Team Members enforcing social distancing I've seen are greater positions at the main entrance and entrance/merge points of queues and groupers at attractions. Other than that it's like the pandemic never happened. Team members are however are very strict about masks. I've seen TMs go out of their way to tell guests to pull up their masks.

Knotts on the other hand, with each visit since re-opeing the less and less I see employees enforcing any of the Covid restrictions. I was at the park today and I would say only 60% of guests were properly wearing masks. Social distancing is only enforced on the actual rides but in the queues it's non existent. Hell while waiting for the park to open this morning, I saw a very, very high up employee walking around the park interacting with other employees with no mask on at all. LOL.

June 15th can't come soon enough so these stupid rules can just end.

Agreed. During the "Taste of" Events, enforcement was strong, but after reopening, it's pretty much non-existent. Hoping after the 15th, reservations will be lifted and that anyone who wants to visit can visit without a reservation assuming Knott's opens capacity to 100% or near that.

I don't know if it's an OC vs. LAC thing, but OC seems to have always been more laxed on COVID guidelines. Many of my OC friend's kids still have had in-person learning this whole time vs. LAC friends who were stuck with remote-learning.

I saw a guy get kicked out Sunday night for refusing to wear his mask properly (he was also very drunk). Also I’ve seen TMs at JW snd FJ enforce the markers.

So with Disney (CA) now officially dropping the mask requirement, is there any word of USH doing so as well? And/or loading all rows, return of pre-shows, and dropping of reservations (I am aware AP don't need a reservation at USH, but I believe all other tickets do)? Haven't heard anything else in this regard from Knott's or SFMM either.

It'll be interesting, because I'll be visiting both SFMM and SFDK later this week, made the reservations a while ago, and we're pretty much suspecting that they'll announce it'll all be wide open, making us do all that planning for nothing

How California theme parks will change when pandemic restrictions end on Tuesday, June 15

The full reopening of the California economy on Tuesday, June 15 after a 15-month pandemic hibernation will allow theme parks in the state to return to full capacity and end most COVID-19 health an…

Mandatory mask requirements will be done starting tomorrow. Masks strongly encouraged for unvaccinated, not required for fully vaccinated. Sounds like ride and show capacity will be restored, as well.

I can't read the article because I don't subscribe, but just because CA laws allow it, private businesses can set their own rules, so it doesn't necessarily mean theme parks have to drop masks. Officially, I haven't heard anything from USH, SFMM, or Knott's.... just Disney.

Plus, as far as I know, nothing's been said about reservation systems.

The article's content was apparently checked and confirmed with each park, so I'm taking it as official for now. From the article --

Universal Studios Hollywood will resume business as normal on June 15 and no longer adhere to any attendance or ride capacity constraints.

Universal Studios Hollywood always manages capacity to enhance the guest experience, according to Universal officials.

While Universal Studios Hollywood will follow state requirements regarding masks, the park continues to refine its guidelines, according to Universal officials. The latest updates on Universal’s mask policy can be found on the park’s website.

Unvaccinated visitors are strongly recommended to wear a mask in accordance with state COVID-19 guidelines. Universal will post vaccination signage in the park and notices online, but will not check for proof of vaccination.

The movie theme park has already stopped taking advance online reservations.

A pop-up COVID-19 vaccination site at Universal Studios Hollywood runs through Sunday, June 13 and June 18-24 from noon to 6 p.m. Both the Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson shots are available.
