Universal Studios Florida: What Do We Think About It?

Random thought I've had - with USF opening at 10AM recently, I'm curious how this may change when HHN season hits.

With 5PM closings, will they open at 9? 8? Just.. keep it at 10?

My gut says 9am with the occasional 8am (Friday/Saturday?) opening time.

When I went a few weeks ago, they opened earlier on a Gradventure day. I'm guessing they do 9AM opening on event days and 10AM otherwise.

Last parts of the entrance are turning white. Arch should be next:

I will say the color of the Hollywood drift track makes a lot more sense to me now since the blue matches the Uni globe next to it and the white walls certainly go together better with the track compared to the old yellow ones. This may not be the full entrance redo we all want, but the studios exterior should feel fresher when the coaster opens.

August hours have been posted - they move back to 8AM openings on August 24th. However.. they close at 6 PM even on non-HHN nights!

Good news new fog effects has been restored or added to ET, Gringotts, and Men in Black. This is a very good sign that Universal has been prioritizing in maintenance on all rides and keeping effects in pristine condition. This is pretty rare for a theme park to look back and restore effects. Seems like Universal maintenance teams have not forgotten about these little things.

I like the ET one the most especially.

I think the poor maintenance team never forgot about any of these effects, they’ve just all been at Epic every extra moment they get due to all the issues with downtime.

From my understanding, North Campus and South Campus maintenance are nearly entirely divorced teams, and in early 2025, a number of legacied North Campus techs were asked to come work for the new park around opening ... then when Epic turned out to be a tech nightmare, they have since been soft-blocked from returning back to their original Northern home venues.

If anyone has any information that contradicts this, feel free to share. This is just my current understanding!

Very glad to see these effects regardless! Especially as additions onto some of the best rides in the park. Just not confident that it has very much to do with Epic specifically.

Yes I kinda figured as well. Only attraction that is maintaining these effects and aa consistently(things get fixed most quickly) in south campus is monsters unchained. Beside this, 30% effects and aa in every other dark rides, Nintendo world seems to be broken most of times and having delay to address issue.

For example giant pendulum effects has been broken over for 4 months now, erumpent aa was broken for over 5 days. Over in Nintendo world, Hollywood version usually keep their effect and aa pristine. 99% of aa is working all the time as well but for epic, seems like only 70% of aa is still functioning in their daily operations.

I know smooth operation and reliability adjustment is their top priority in epic but I wish they could hire extra engineers to work and adding on small things, details.
