$179 for three hours seems like a lot right? I know it includes snacks but that’s just not a lot of time to do much of anything.

Too expensive and too short. That said, since it's during HHN it could possibly attract some people. Do it in the summer, at that price, and I doubt they sell more than a handful of tickets.

Later updated to technically 5 hours (MNSSHP rules, can enter at 7, but they won't kick everyone else out until 9). Still a lot.

Also not sure if helps with the dining situation. Can't believe anyone will spend any of that 5 hours doing any food other than grab and go.

lol

This cost more then HHN and is just the park

I paid less then this for two people plus parking to do Disneyland for 5 hours after dark....to me this seems insane and also sucks for normal guests. So now you get less nighttime so they can up sell you? No thanks

$180 is the exact same Disney World chargers for DHS after hours for the same amount of attractions, snacks, and characters.

I'm saying the park could just be open to 10 or 11 but now you have to pay extra

Its a lot of money for a few hours, I know its a new park but....and I guess WDW can charge insane prices for after hours but Disneyland just did a 5 hour tickets and like I said it was less for two people with parking for the same hours but I guess its different groups buying these on each coast

I fully disagree. I've done these events and they're great, especially if you're not doing a full park day at the park in question.

More power to you! I think just about all these events are an absolute ripoff and a cynical way for parks to get multiple admission bites rather than just keeping their parks open later.

The idea is great but 180 dollars?

Thats just to me insane, thats more then HHN and thats the park plus 10 new attractions and extra shows you can't see other wise

The idea is fine (but also why can't Epic just be open later?) but the price to me just too much for mostly a normal park with food

I guess it all comes down to how limited it will be and whether there will be additional special offerings for the event alone. There is a market, obviously, since Disney and OI's events have been successful.

We can't compare the two. HHN packs as much capacity as possible. The selling point here is an empty park and free snacks/treats/etc., which explains the premium price.

An AP ticket on those days is $170, and you can stay in the park until 10 or later if you get in line just before 9. So you are paying more for 2 hours and some snacks. To each their own!

I get its trying to do its own thing but for me it brings up issues

To me, this park could be open later and now they are just making it cost to stay later. The snacks are fine but to me aren't worth more then 30 bucks and even then depends on what kind of park goer you are, if I can I bring snacks to parks so I don't have to spend money on overpriced food.

If crowds are low then yes for some I get why this is worth it but if the park can be opener then just have the park open later for everyone and do what Disneyland is doing and sell 5 hour tickets but under 100 bucks

Attednance is capped, snacks are offered, free Coke Freestyle. All attractions are openn. None of those things are true with HHN.

THIS IS NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR "BEING OPEN LATER" THIS IS A SPEARATE PRODUCT. Are you trying to be deliberately obtuse here.

If we're doing apples-to-apples, you have to include the price of Express ($260 on the 3rd) and the assumed cost of snacks/drink (let's assume $25).

So, does 5 hours at $170 have better value for people than a full day at $455?

I guess I don't understand this point, since the park is usually open until 9 or 10 p. If Universal starts cutting regular hours to sell the after-hours tickets and closing at 6 or 7p, then I'd agree.

No, I'm saying that the park can be just open during these hours for everyone

If some think this is a good value, great but I don't think park like this. I don't need soda and snacks. I go to parks all the time without those

Why would it be worst to say "Park is open until 11 PM and if you want to come int he last 5-6 hours for X price" that would be worst. Your doing a forced bundle pricing with this when you could offer a night time ticket, like the one at Disneyland and everyone wins in my books

Do I wish Epic was open until 11 daily, yes. But would I pay for this if I was there? Also yes. They realise this.

As an out-of-town person myself, I get the feeling Universal are much more interested in maximising revenue from less frequent visitors with this park than they are in giving value to a high volume of regular visitors. I understand why that’s not going to win them many fans around here.

People like night time, especially at Epic. And honestly, the difference from 10pm last year to mostly 9pm this year is stark — you really only have an hour of darkness, which is one or two rides plus getting a spot for the show. Adding three extra hours is not a small thing in that context.

I think this comes down to what each person values. You don't care about the included food or the lower crowds, so the event doesn't appeal to you. That's fine!

But for someone who does value those things, this is exactly the product they're looking for. Universal isn't trying to make a discounted evening ticket; they're trying to create a premium after-hours experience.

OI's after-hours events cost considerably more, yet they sold out so quickly that a second night was added, and that sold out within minutes, too!
