While I agree with everything about the Disney bashing, your Everest and Mission: Space defense examples only really help his point. Mission: Space has a beautiful facade but inside a very ho-hum, claustrophobic, borderline unpleasant simulator experience with already-dated graphics... it feels more like an exercise than something *fun,* and it isn't even inspiring like its predecessor. In short, as an "E-Ticket" attraction, it's a major disappointment.

Expedition Everest too has an absolutely gorgeous facade, with excellent place-making and a perfectly executed queue... and then, again, a bare bones, uninteresting, anti-climactic ride experience. Notice the pattern? Same deal with Mermaid - Disney can create these wonderful introductory elements to their attractions but can't seem to follow through anymore. I went on Everest even when the Yeti worked, and while it's a beautiful animatronic and a chilling effect, it doesn't excuse the whole lot of *nothing* going on around the rest of the ride. The whole "you're supposed to only glimpse the Yeti" piece is BS, IMO. There's a billion ways they could've made that ride more visually interesting and engaging, but they cheaped out after the facade.

I've said this before, I'll say it again - Disney hasn't built a truly mindblowing, A+ executed attraction since Tower of Terror.

Really almost anything is. If it wasn't technologically advanced by the trackless ride system (which was very poorly used), i'd say it could be comparable to a rock... and the rock might win.

Everest, Mission Space...

This isnt directed at you, Cupcakes, but the Disney bashing is getting so old. We get it, theyre lagging a little behind, but like now people are pulling out Disney jokes out of nowhere. Have any of you been to any of the WDW parks lately? Theyre still a lot of fun, and kept up pretty nicely. Universal is definitely expanding faster but theyre a different theme park resort entirely. Im not a Disney fanboy or anything, but it gets annoying to see Disney World jokes thrown around literally everywhere (even when Disney is completanything, but it gets annoying to see Disney World jokes thrown around literally everywhere (even when Disney is completely unrelated) just to jump on some sort of persontakingdisliketoofar bandwagon. Its not that Im Bob Iger and take offense to it or anything, its just that the constant negativity for no reason is starting to be a bummer.

True true, I was just over-exaggerating there for comedic effect, although I suppose that was a bit of an overused joke around here. But do note that I said "almost everything".

What I was more trying to say was if I were forced to go on Antarctica or Stitch's Great Escape...I'd pick the former, easily.

Well I'm always aware of public holidays, you know standard ones you can find in a calendar. Last year however I got thrown a curve ball as I went to DLR during Gay Days... Almost 9pm and Space had a 3.5 hour wait... During the day all rides were in excess of 90 min waits, it was horrible. I now know to lookup gay days to avoid Christmas level crowds. I mean seriously a 45 min wait for a corn dog a DCA at 10pm??

Yup I went to DLR on Dapper day, had no idea what dapper day was and at first thought a wedding party had arrived!

WDW might not have but Disney have. RSR is beautiful.

I love mermaid too, I thinks it's great... But the fact that it cost more than FJ is shocking and knocks it down a few pegs for me.

I think the Disney ribbing is a little bit boring but still valid... Although what I love about this place is the fairness.. I'm totally split between Uni and Disney I love both equally. I have pretty much abandoned WDWMagic because of the tedious Uni bashing... Not that I think they'll miss me but this place is normally pretty easy going with the rivalry and that was a big attraction for me when I first joined.

I think the difference is when it's in jest and ribbing its funny but sometimes there's actual venom in it!

I spent the day at USF today, with the sole purpose of riding Transformers. I expected a 2 hr + line, but instead found that the line was only 60 minutes. With the aide of Single Riders (what a life saver, I would HIGHLY recommend Single Riders if you don't feel like waiting an hr +) I managed to hit this bad boy up a total of 7 times. What an amazing ride. The building is a monster and is large. The inside is highly themed, and the ride itself is just insane and fast-paced. While the ride system is borrowed from Spidey, the 2 rides offer completely unique and different experiences. I honestly can't compare them (except, of course, the tech in TF is leaps and bounds above Spidey's. The ride broke down on me once, and I was surprised to find that I was inside a building. Yes, you really do lose yourself in this ride. The transition from screen to screen is absolutely seamless, and it does feel like you are moving into the screens almost everytime you stop in front of one). Definitely the flagship ride in USF right now. Way to go Uni, you hit another home run.

I've actually been amazed at how short the Single Riders line has been. There are days when I saw the stand-by wait at 100+ minutes, and yet the Single Rider line was only like, five minutes tops.

Yeah, Probly the best Single Riders line in the park. It did get longer as the day went on, but I'd say the longest wait you can expect in that line is 20 minutes tops.

I also finally got on this today! I was very happy to do so, and I have to say it lived up to my expectations :) I totally agree with those who have said the screen-to-set transitions on this are a little better than on Spidey; while there seem to be fewer sets on this they are very nicely designed. I don't quite agree though with those who call it more intense than its IOA neighbour. I enjoyed the few high-speed scenes, but I find the lateral Gs on Spiderman to give a more forceful experience. That isn't to say I prefer one over the other though, and I think overall it is a very satisfying experience when the queue, preshow and ride are all considered. The ride has certainly brought new life to the front of the park as well which is excellent. Thumbs up from me - and its lovely to now have a blockbuster hi-tech dark ride in the Studios as well as IOA.

Writing this post from the patio at Royal Pacific (on-site first timer!) and looking forward to more goes on TF during the week!

I agree with this. I love both Uni and Disney. IOA is my favorite park, however.

And believe it or not, there is probably more Disney "bashing" than Universal "bashing" on WDWMagic. But when Universal bashing does occur, it's usually some ridiculous shot at Universal from someone who probably hasn't been there before. That's when I get annoyed.

I think I was there that day...the ride was running at half-capacity due to one of the elevators being broken down. Had the ride been working properly, the queue line would have been much shorter, and more in line with the wait times it drew for the rest of the summer (60-90 minutes).

Not specifics, but I'm sure Potter lines were rather large. Especially those waiting overnight.

I had a chance to ride the USH version of Transformers, and let me tell you that Hatetofly is absolutely right. The quality of the screens in our version is much higher. Also, USH as a whole left me very unimpressed.

The park itself is getting the DCA treatment, looking 5-10 years into the future is very very impressive. But yes I agree the park is lackluster right now at best, hence my only going during HHN.

Very excellent news. I haven't felt very inclined to go to USH myself recently. A while ago I was going to go to see TF, but then cancelled when they announced that it was coming to Florida as well.

I hope they can make Hollywood feel like a more unified park as a whole, as right now it just feels like a hodge-podge of different things with nothing connecting together. It's obvious that they built the park as a mere afterthought to the Studio Tour.
