The only line I've ever had poor luck with single riders is Rockit and Dudley, and they've been better about managing the former. Dudley just has an awful capacity, but even then you're going to wait less time in the single riders line. Often the single riders lines for Hulk and Spidey will look daunting, but they only take 15 minutes to get through (20 minutes max), and this is when the line is at least 45 minutes (in Spidey's case, 75!) Mummy and Men in Black are almost always less than 10, and Jurassic Park's is debatably hidden (I walked right on).

On a random subject about the attraction, was anyone else a little surprised when they used the da-word in the queue line videos twice? It caught me off guard because Universal used to censor those kinds of things in the past, like in BTTF:TR they had Doc say "Darn. Darn darn!" instead of what he said in the movie. Have they simply become less PC now? (although it's not like that would bother me)

I wouldn't say saying "damn" is involved with political correctness at all. They simply are choosing to try and appeal to all age groups.

-They curse in Beetlejuice and the Horror Makeup Show

-They say 'ass' and 'motherfletcher' in Shrek 4-D (and several mild curse words in the queue)

-the da-word is barely even a bad word...I dont think Universal has lightened up on PC, I think PC has just changed. People are a lot more tolerant of things like that now. Women used to not be able to expose their ankles, and people used to consider 'damn' a bad word...that kinda thing

I don't think "damn" (as opposed to "g-d damn") has been considered a serious curse word since Rhett Buttler said it to Scarlett...

Orlando Informer upped their Universal crowd calendar a grade for most of the rest of August since they said the two parks are much busier than a normal August, with Transformers & Springfield driving the attendance increase.

SHOCKER!! Its good that they are busy though, we do not want them to have any off years in the middle of building up these parks to spook them at all.

Exactly. One reason that Transformers was a great last minute decision. That way there is no one year attendance slump before Diagon Alley opens. Comcast/Universal is making some terrific decisions.

Having visited both Universal and Sea World this week I can attest to both parks being VERY busy for this time of year. I was really surprised!

Uni:

Transformers: 75 minutes
Revenge of the Mummy: 35 minutes
Despicable Me: 100 minutes

Sea World:

Journey to Atlantis: 70 minutes
Antarctica: 100 minutes
Manta: 40 minutes

I'm not used to mid summer wait times this late in the month!

Well in fairness, it's still better than almost everything WDW has done in the past 10 years or so.

Belle's wait time was 50 min today, so you could do it twice in the same time as Antartica

Everest, Mission Space...

This isnt directed at you, Cupcakes, but the Disney bashing is getting so old. We get it, theyre lagging a little behind, but like now people are pulling out Disney jokes out of nowhere. Have any of you been to any of the WDW parks lately? Theyre still a lot of fun, and kept up pretty nicely. Universal is definitely expanding faster but theyre a different theme park resort entirely. Im not a Disney fanboy or anything, but it gets annoying to see Disney World jokes thrown around literally everywhere (even when Disney is completely unrelated) just to jump on some sort of hater bandwagon. Its not that Im Bob Iger and take offense to it or anything, its just that the constant negativity for no reason is starting to be a bummer.

While I agree with everything about the Disney bashing, your Everest and Mission: Space defense examples only really help his point. Mission: Space has a beautiful facade but inside a very ho-hum, claustrophobic, borderline unpleasant simulator experience with already-dated graphics... it feels more like an exercise than something *fun,* and it isn't even inspiring like its predecessor. In short, as an "E-Ticket" attraction, it's a major disappointment.

Expedition Everest too has an absolutely gorgeous facade, with excellent place-making and a perfectly executed queue... and then, again, a bare bones, uninteresting, anti-climactic ride experience. Notice the pattern? Same deal with Mermaid - Disney can create these wonderful introductory elements to their attractions but can't seem to follow through anymore. I went on Everest even when the Yeti worked, and while it's a beautiful animatronic and a chilling effect, it doesn't excuse the whole lot of *nothing* going on around the rest of the ride. The whole "you're supposed to only glimpse the Yeti" piece is BS, IMO. There's a billion ways they could've made that ride more visually interesting and engaging, but they cheaped out after the facade.

I've said this before, I'll say it again - Disney hasn't built a truly mindblowing, A+ executed attraction since Tower of Terror.
