There aren't too many screens. The Fact that Universal only has two parks and they are right next to each other gives the illusion there are too many screens. If anything is in abundance, it's too much 3D. But thats a different debate.

If we end up with 10 more years of Shrek, and other attractions get the axe before it... I won't be pleased. To say the least.

I wonder if SLOP could have fit into the Twister/Fallon plot with some creative design work.

We need Scott Walker or Teebin to do a measurement & compare it to the former Studio 28 plot in Hollywood where SLOP will be located. Interesting just for curiosities' sake.

ill say this i just took my family to Universal 2 weeks ago and my 13 yr old daughter said they have a lot of simulators here
having said that i think they re fine, loved gringotts and Kong looks great
Universal rides are fast paced and sometimes screens are a better fit for the story
just my opinion

the one disappointment is F & F
using a test track type of technology through the streets of San Fran would be awesome

I ask myself that each time I get on a ride.

"Could this have been better with a Physical Set?"

Most of the time my answer is no.

Men In Black and ET are excellent examples of rides without screens as the focal point while Simpsons is the absolute worse.

And if Universal wants to build screens, cool. Of course they need to dim down on the simulators and 3d simulators but as you said, some rides just are better fits for them.

Shrek definitively should be what goes for SLoP and then just save DreamWorks for the third park. Fast & Furious being so similar to Kong plus the already lukewarm reception in Hollywood will be its biggest weakness, not just screens. Transformers is still a very fun ride even with the similarities to Spider-Man which is why I think it'll get get a bit more of a pass than F&F.

I am sorry to ask such a dumb question. What does "SLoP" stand for?

I skipped most of the last couple pages, but I have seen a trend on other threads where if anyone complains about 3D or screens the answer is well, you are going to hate what Disney is doing. I don't understand that response. For all you know the person could hate Disney too. For some reason if someone dislikes screens it is like they HAVE to be a pixie lover. For me it is all about balance when it comes to 3D. Not screens so much, but simulators and 3D. So I have zero issues with Kong, because there are only 2 other rides with 3D or simulator type feelings. So adding a 3rd is no biggie. I do have an issue with Fallon and F&F because that park is very 3D and sim heavy. When those open there will be 5 3D rides, 1 sim that doesn't have 3D, and 2 3D theater shows. This to me is way too 3D/sim heavy. So in order to bring the park back they need to get rid of the more sucky ones (Simpsons & Shrek) and replace with non-3D/sim rides. But that really isn't in the plans. They are going to build Nintendo which will replace 2 non-3D shows and 1 or 2 non-3D/sim rides. They need to start reducing the number of 3D/sim rides in that park.

DHS is the next heavy park with 2 3D rides and 1 3D show. If DHS starts to get out of balance too, I will have the same complaint with it. In fact I already said the one day I rode star tours and toy story too many times and started to get 3D fatigue. I don't care which company it is, when it gets out of balance I am going to call them out on it.

Terminator is a perfect blend of old school 3D shows blended with live actors. I love it.

I haven't seen it in years because no one ever wants to see it. Simpsons on the other hand is very enjoyable for me and I would rather Terminator go than that.

Simpsons is fine, but I hate the building design. I wouldn't be sad if they completely demo'd that thing and started over.

Both SS28 and the Fallon Plot (a guess though, as Google Earth hasn't updated) is about .67 acres.

Terminated could go in that too. I was so excited I had people with me to ride Simpsons because hubby won't go on. We all went on except hubby. He was the smart one. We all came out with our stomach not feeling the best and we all felt the ride was not worth it. And I don't get motion sick. My daughter even said she felt sick and NEVER wanted to go back on it.

Personally regarding Fallon; it's been a project that has seemed to of been in development for quite some time (because of the mentioning previous times that it was rumored to of opened for the 25th anniversary..)

Yeah, Simpsons is a no-go for us. I would have loved to have seen a Simpsons dark ride/SFX coaster.
